STRANGER

An Olicity drabble.

Felicity scurries her way through the lobby of Queen Consolidated, quickly reaching the elevator. She takes it down to the IT department, her home away from home, her safe haven.

Only after an awkward elevator ride with an ex-boyfriend, Kevin. They don't talk, just exchange a polite smile before Felicity nearly dashes out of the elevator.

People did always say to never have office romances. They never work out.

They were right.

She reaches her office, putting down her bag, shrugging off her coat and draping it over her swivel chair. She boots up her company computer, waiting until she's met with the company's logo as the desktop's wallpaper.

Taking a sip of coffee from her traveler's mug, she begins her regular system check-up to see if everything's running as it should be.

It takes about an hour or so to run through the entire system, and after it's completed, there's a knock on her open door, and she looks up.

Oliver Queen is knocking on her door.

"Hi." He says with a dazzling smile as he stands in the doorway with something tucked under his arm.

"Uh, um, hi?" Felicity says back, standing up from her seat and smoothing down her skirt.

"Oh, please, don't get up on the account of me," he tells her, gesturing her to sit back down, and she does.

As if it's no big deal that my boss' stepson isn't in my office, Felicity thinks.

"Right, um, how can I help you?" She asks. "Oh, God, I'm so rude; I don't want you to think I'm some disrespectful jerk who doesn't have any manners or anything because I do, my parents raised me well, you know, so I just—" She stops her rambling when she sees Oliver's befuddled expression.

"Um, I was just saying you can sit." She finishes lamely, pointing to an empty seat across her desk.

Oh, God, he must think I'm a freak, she thinks to herself.

"Thanks," he nods towards her, sitting down. "I was just wondering if you could help me reboot this laptop of mine." He hands it to her over the desk.

Felicity takes it into her hands and opens the lid. "God, this laptop looks like it's gone through hell, a swamp, a desert, maybe a few tornadoes—sorry."

Oliver chuckles. "It's alright. Do you think you can do it?"

Out of all the people in the IT department, he just had to stumble into her office?

The office of a stranger.

"Well, I mean, yeah, I can do it. It might take a few days or years to even get it to turn on, but I'll see what I can do." she replies.

"Thank you. I really appreciate it…?" He trails off as they both get up from their seats.

"Felicity. Felicity Smoak." She interjects.

"Nice meeting you, Felicity. I'll drop by again Friday." Oliver tells her.

"Sure, see you Friday."
