'"So, um..."
"Yeah, hi..."
The awkward moment when you meet someone you've talked to on the computer nonstop.'
I sigh and run my paw over my black ears.
My name is Katrina Blackcatt, and I am sick and tired of these notes. It might be because I have no friends, really, but most are so stupid.
But anyway, I'm 14 years of age and graduating elementary, grade 8, since my town doesn't have middle school. But that could be my country or province. I live in... No, wait, too much information.
I log off AnimalBook and take a deep breath before heading downstairs.
My mother is staring out the window like usual. She says it calms her, but neither my sister, dad or me buy it.
My sister is chatting on the phone. She's three years younger than me and has a way better social life. My social life is online. Her name is Kiki, and is a brat. Everyone mistakes her as peppy. Ew.
My dad, who knows? He's either hunting or working at the place he sells his meat.
I sit next to my sister and open my book. It's all about different worlds. She glares at me and turns away. Suits me all fine.
I get bored of this book quickly, and stand up, yawning. My sister hangs up, wow, first time for her, and stands up as well.
"Can't a girl get quiet at all?" she spits.
"My thoughts exactly, dear sister." I spit back, and she storms upstairs to her room. My mother still stares out the window.
I pack myself a thermos of Mr. Noodles, a brownie, and two juice boxes in a wicker picnic basket. Then, for entertainment, a few books. Not that I'll need it. I like to daydream.
