"A musical, Albus? Are you out of your mind?!" asked Professor McGonagall.

"You finally noticed?" asked Professor Snape dryly, earning himself a glare from the Transfiguration Professor. Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore merely chuckled, and smiled behind his long beard and half-moon glasses.

It was the monthly meeting of staff, and Dumbledore had had the idea of staging a musical using the students and some of the Professors. Naturally, the other Professors (bar Flitwick, as he was to be conducting the orchestra and be the Musical Director) weren't very pleased.

"How will we know if the students will participate? Nobody will be brave enough to audition," said McGonagall. Dumbledore merely kept smiling and held up his hand. "I've heard Mr. Potter has a good enough voice."

"Who's the source?" asked Snape suspiciously. "Fred and George Weasley," replied Dumbledore, "they heard him…."

"We don't want to know!" cried Snape, McGonagall and Professor Sprout together, knowing full well that the Twins heard Potter in the Quidditch showers. Merlin knows what else took place there.

"Either way, he'll never agree. And which play have you picked?" asked Madam Pomfrey. Dumbledore didn't say, he simply handed her a leaflet. She took it and upon seeing the cover, turned pale.

"This? Albus, this'll give Muggles an even worse reputation in the eyes of the Slytherins and the pureblood supremacists in other Houses," she cried, handing it to McGonagall and Snape, who both gave each other worried looks.

"I've seen it in London," said Snape. "How was it?" asked a cheery Dumbledore. "It was….interesting, to say the least," came the Potions Master's reply.

"Well, it's settled then," said Dumbledore, his smile becoming more cheery. "We'll do this one. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street as done by the students and staff of Hogwarts."

Minerva shuddered. It was bad enough that Dumbledore held eccentric views, but that he viewed this play to be suitable for a school production was far enough. What would the governors say?

"I've spoken to the governors as well," continued Dumbledore. "Apparently, Lucius Malfoy finds it to be a very well-written piece, especially from Muggles, and so he, and everyone else, agreed. For some reason, he likes Shakespeare as well."

Snape raised an eyebrow. McGonagall merely shivered, as did Madam Pomfrey and Professor Sprout.

"Igor agrees too, and Madame Maxime will say yes if we allow one of the Beauxbatons students to be in it. Durmstrang isn't known for producing actors."

"Either way, that Mr. Potter is attached to this, against his will or not, that won't mean that the other students will pick him. They're still ignoring him."

"What do you think, Alastor?" asked Dumbledore to Mad-Eye Moody, who was looking around the room.

"Sure, sure…but be careful though," was all the ex-Auror said. Dumbledore, McGonagall and Snape raised confused eyebrows, but said nothing.

"Well then, we'll tell this decision to the students tomorrow at breakfast and see how they react," said Dumbledore, pleased with his plan to bring a more theatrical life and entertainment to Hogwarts.

AN: Sweeney Todd is a great play, believe me.

As to who should be who, let me know in the reviews. I'm keeping Harry in the cast not because of Daniel being a good singer, but because I want to embarrass Harry even more.

And this takes places around Goblet of Fire, before Skeeter and the Yule Ball.
