"I never want to see you again..."

He couldn't believe he had said those words to her. Sydney, his partner, one of his closest friends, even if only because he could actually talk to her about his real job, what they did together, not making up some story about a bank to tell his family or anyone else. One of the people he trusted the most in the world. Well, used to anyway.

"You lied to me. And then chose to tell me the truth when it was convinient for you."

As much as he knew his words had hurt her, he was furious. He couldn't understand why Sydney would have lied to him for so long. Why would she let him believe he was doing good when he was working for the enemy? He didn't know what hurt worse, finding out the truth, or finding out that Sydney knew all along.

Deep down he knew that she thought she was protecting him. He didn't doubt that she cared about him, but if she had really cared, she would have told him the truth. Why in the world would she let him go on fighting for the enemy? Lying to him on probably every mission they ever went on together, trying to trip him up. Always wanting to do certain parts of it herself. Doing her best to take SD-6 down while pretending to be on the same side as him. Could he ever trust her again?

And his wife, Diane...she was crushed when she heard the truth. Dixon didn't want to lose her. Never in a million years did he want to hurt her, but that's just what he had done. She had every right to be mad at him, but couldn't she see that he was hurting too? He just wanted someone to understand him, to tell him it was all going to be alright.

Sydney...could Sydney do that for him? Would she understand? Did she go through all of this at some point?

*NO!* He refused to talk to her. He didn't want to even look at her again, couldn't stand looking into her sad, sympathetic eyes. He just wanted Diane to forgive him, forget about this whole thing, and get a real job. A normal, boring job. That's what he wanted. He didn't ever want to hear the word "CIA" ever again.

TBC...????
