"You fainted…straight into my arms. You know, if you wanted my attention you didn't have to go to such extremes."
Dorian's eyes widened like saucers as he looked up at Iron Bull. The Qunari's eyes crinkled with his smile, his warm laughter filling the air. Something fluttered in his stomach. He tried to push it away, but it wouldn't go. With a slight stumble, Dorian managed to right himself. He skittered away from the large warrior, leaning on his staff and reorienting himself.
From somewhere nearby, the faint sounds of broken chuckles filtered into the growing silence. Dorian didn't need to look to see who it was. But, regardless, he turned a sharp glare at the laughing dwarf. Varric didn't even appear to be trying to hide his amusement. Rather, it had the opposite of the desired effect. Varric's voice grew into a great belly laugh when he caught Dorian's scathing look.
"Is everything all right?" The Inquisitor approached the small group. Dorian smoothed out the front of his robes, collecting himself to give them a confident smile.
"Of course, Inquisitor. Do you expect any less?" To his annoyance, Dorian received naught but a gentle snort and a chuckle in reply.
"I don't know, Sparkler," Varric chimed in with an impish grin. "That was a pretty dramatic faint."
Dorian could feel his frustration beginning to simmer, puffing up just a little as he gave the dwarf an indignant look.
"It was just a dragon, Dorian." The Inquisitor added as they began walking again.
Dorian narrowed his gaze at their armored back. "Yes, and it's a perfectly good way to ruin our day."
"Oh I don't know," Iron Bull hummed as he followed after their leader. "It just made my day pretty good."
"In more ways than one," Varric added aside with a smirk and a wicked chuckle.
Heat shot rapidly through Dorian's body, blossoming outward and reaching even the tips of his ears. Varying shades of pink and red grew, racing across his skin like wildfire. It was a long few minutes before he was even able to compose himself enough to follow the Inquisitor and their companions.
