Marius' Death
(If Cosette Had Gone To England)
.
The shots rang out
Death was on its way
But poor young Marius
Died earlier that day
He had gone to their place
Outside the Rue Plumet
Yelling 'Cosette'
But the house was at bay
A letter from Cosette
Addressed: Rue de l'Homme Arme
Completely broke his heart and soul
With what it had to say
She told him that
She was moving far away
To England in fact
His heart filled with dismay
The one bright light
His everlasting ray
Was lost forever
Like a needle in hay
But she would still love him
Come what may
Because love cannot die
Between people like they
Now here in the barricade
The ultimate price he'd pay
With the rest of his friends
In graves they'll all lay
His last thought 'Cosette
My heart you slay
But my love doesn't die
With me today
Cosette, Cosette
Things are in disarray
Still my thoughts hold you
As the world turns grey
I wish so much
That it was May
And we would be together
Like yesturday
Cosette, I wish...'
But he could not stay
To see the barricade end
A sad ballet
.
.
(*just a quick note: I rhymed every second line and did not repeat any
words to rhyme!! It was very hard ^.^;)
