The Fellowship of the Ring
Nine they were who formed the Fellowship,
two from the race of Men, and a Wizard,
four from the Shire, hobbits of renown,
one Dwarf and his fellow Elf who took ship.
Boromir of Gondor and King Aragorn,
Men of great strength and valor.
Boromir, was killed, after blowing his horn,
and sent to rest in a fair boat of Lothlorien.
Aragorn the brave and restored King,
years he toiled and labored for good,
until at least he is of all that people sing,
he who rules now in peace and justice.
The Wizard Gandalf went with them,
wise and powerful beyond any,
he fell with the Balrog in Moria,
only to return to guide and save many.
Frodo Ring-bearer had the hardest task,
of ridding the world of evil, the One Ring.
His journey was aided by the blessed flask
of elven-light from beautiful Galadriel.
Sam was Frodo's unyielding servant,
a brave hobbit and lover of trees.
To the Cracks of Doom with Frodo he went,
supporting and aiding him with his life.
Merry and Pippin were best of friends,
keeping each other company in the days
of hardship and happiness alike.
Of leaf they had an exceptional craze.
Gimli the Dwarf wielder of axe,
a lover of carving rock and cave.
He who learned the fate of Balin,
and through it all remained ever brave.
The fearless Elf Prince Legolas Greenleaf,
of Mirkwood with his blessed bow.
So fair, old, and slender was this Elf,
who shot and killed many a foe!
At last the Fellowship of the Ring has ended,
with many sad partings and hearts,
to return home and leave those forever whom they lovingly befriended.
