Daria and Jane were walking to the pizza place after school. It was fall, so they were wearing coats because it had started to get colder and colder. The sidewalk and the road were wet and the wind was hitting the girls' faces. Both Daria's and Jane's boots were shiny, because they had gotten wet after the girls stepped on a puddle.

"Hey, I just noticed something" Jane commented, breaking the silence.

"Huh?".

"What is is with you and guys with names that start with the letter T?".

Daria seemed confused and seemed not to understand her friend's question. Maybe it was the cold that slowed down her brain, or the fact that they hadn't said a word in long enough for her to get too lost inside her mind, where she was planning a complex plot for a Melody Powers story which included a character named Terrence, a scottish spy which became romantically interested in Melody but ended up being pushed from the top of the Big Ben by her.

"What do you mean?" Daria inquired.

"Just think about it. First it was my brother, Trent".

"Thanks for saying his name, I couldn't have remembered that without your help".

"Shut up. Then there was that weird guy from the yearbook committee".

"You can't let the thing with Ted go, can you?".

Jane smirked, recalling the details Daria had gave her of the house of the kid. The corn, the homemade couch made out of wood and, of course, the necklace he had made for Daria. She felt bad, because he had been nice to Daria and she was partially guilty of making Daria deny his gift. On the other hand, she thought, what kind of friend would she be if she had let someone like Daria date someone like Ted?

"Hey, he wasn't so bad. You know, if you don't go into details".

"My parents and Quinn still think he and his family are freaks. They are just... unusual".

"And, the last in the list, Tom. Tom's name also starts with T. Now, tell me, amiga, what do guys with names that start with the letter T have that turns you on every time?".

"Shut up" Daria rolled her eyes ". I don't know what are you talking about. I didn't really like Ted or Trent".

"Oh, C'mon, Morgendorffer. That time you went out with Ted counts as a date to me and you were all about Trent for enough time to think you did really like him".

"I think you are just being paranoid, Jane. I don't have a thing for guys whose names start with T. I mean, why would I? Some people have things for guys with certain type of hair or things like that, but their names? Really?".

Jane raised an eyebrow.

"Fine. If you say so" Jane concluded with a smirk, knowing Daria well enough to know her friend would be thinking about what she had said for at least a couple of days.
