Disclaimer: If I owned it, Melinda and Fin would be together.

She sat on the balcony of her apartment. Her knees were pulled to her chest, and she had her head resting on them. She looked at the view from her balcony. It was relatively the same as it was in New York, but she didn't feel the same. She had left her home, friends and the man she loved.

Why did I leave? It wasn't because of money, or because I needed this job. Was it because I was afraid of commitment? No, it couldn't have been, because I love him. I would do anything for him. Why didn't I stay? I could see myself with his children. I left though. It's never going to happen.

She picked up her cell phone and searched through her contacts. She needed to talk to him. She hit the call button and put the phone to her ear. She took a deep breath as the phone began to ring.

He was sitting in his apartment on the couch, in complete silence. It felt so empty now that she was gone. They could spend hours talking about anything. He could have spent hours just looking at her. He looked over at the end table. There was a picture perched on it.

That was his favorite picture. It was taken at the park. She was sitting in his lap. The picture had been taken right as she kissed his cheek. He smiled but then frowned when he realized it was all gone. She wasn't his anymore. He wondered why she had left. She had said it was because she couldn't pass up this job offer, but he knew it was something more than that. He wondered if it was because of him, because he never admitted his true feeling to her. Why did it matter now? She had made her choice.

His phone began to buzz. He picked it up and looked at the caller ID. It said Mel. He answered it.

"Hello" He said.

"Hi Fin" She said shakily. She shouldn't have called.

"Why did you call me?"

"I think you know why. We need to talk."

"We need to talk about what? You already made your decision."

He was going to say more but she cut him off. "It was the wrong decision. I shouldn't have left. I miss you."

"I miss you too. Will you answer one question for me?"

"Sure"

"Why did you leave?"

She sighed. She knew he would ask that. "I don't know, but I do know it was stupid of me to leave without telling you that I love you Fin."

He smiled. The whole time that they had dated they had never said I love you. "I love you too Melinda."
