Claire rolled over. She heard asking Alexandria ringing in her ears before she pulled the plug of her alarm clock out of the wall. Claire let out a sigh she hated getting up in the morning. She went to her dresser, which she had plastered in various stickers, and pulled out the first shirt on top which happened to be a pink tank top with a large grey skull on it. She shimmied into her favorite skinny jeans they slid over her slender body easily. Claire went to the bathroom she pulled a brush through her black and white blonde hair and clipped her side bangs to the side with a bobby pin she didn't feel like flat iorning it today. Lastly she slipped on her black chucks and applied a generous amount of black eye liner. And she was ready to go.

"There you are sleepy head" chirped Mrs. Lyons

Claire rolled her eyes at her mother's cheeriness

"kay lets go" said Claire she tried to skip breakfast, but her mother made her eat a granola bar in the car.

Upon arriving at school Claire scanned the front for Layne her best and one of her only friends.

Claire spotted Layne under the bleachers and ran over to her.

"hey Layne" said Claire sleepily

Layne jumped up and hugged Claire. While in Layne's embrace Claire looked over her shoulder and spotted two of her least favorite people across the courtyard OHS's "it couple" Olivia and Cam. Olivia was perched on cam's lap and they were nuzzling each other. Claire's heart felt like it was about to explode she hated how her light complexion made it so everyone could tell when she was overheating.

"earth to Claire" Layne said while waving her arm in front of Claire's face

Layne had let go of her? Claire hadn't even noticed.

Layne was biting her cotton candy blue fingernails.

"really Claire cam is so not worth it"

"I know" said Claire even if she didn't believe it

Why was it that girls like Olivia could just prance around and act the way Olivia did and get guys when girls like Claire who always tried so hard to be kind to everyone always finished last.

It was this sick sad world at its finest and no one knew that better than Claire lyons.
