He asked her for a dance. Just one.
She smiled, tucked a strand of white hair behind her ear, and accepted.
He bowed before offering her his hand, like the true gentlemen he was.
She laughed, not used to such chivalry, and knelt down to delicately take his hand.
He took her thumb like the hand of a dance partner, kissed it, and began to waltz with her hand.
She brought her other hand to her mouth as she smiled at his ingenuity. Placing her pointer and middle finger on the ground, she followed the steps his feet were doing with her fingers.
There was no orchestra playing. They didn't need it. Instead, he hummed a classical piece, moving in time to it. Her hand moved and twirled with him.
Even with a very large hand for a partner, he was an excellent dancer. She'd known that before, but she wondered for a moment why he'd learned to dance. It was a skill not many men had. She asked him.
With a grin, he told her, "Because I knew I would find the women of my dreams one day and wanted to dashingly sweep her off her feet when I finally met her."
She smiled again as a light blush covered her face and asked coyly, "And have you found her yet?"
"Of course my dear," he replied, as if it was the silliest question in the world. "Although I do doubt my ability to literally sweep her off her feet. I'm afraid I'm not strong enough for that feat."
She smirked, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Well, then maybe she can sweep you off yours," she said, and took him into both hands.
Sitting in the palm of her hand, he laughed. "She certainly can. She's done so before on several occasions."
She gave him a warm smile, bringing him to her face. Closing her eyes, she lightly kissed the top of his head. "I love you, Doc," she breathed quietly.
His antenna gently tickled both sides of her nose. "As do I, Susan."

NOTES: Hands down, this is the sappiest thing I've ever written. Also probably the shortest.
It's worth noting that the title comes from the alternate name for 'Lara's Theme' in Doctor Zhivago, which is also what Dr. C's ferris-wheel-music-box thingie plays in my other fic, 'Scrape Away'. It is actually a waltz.
