A/N Had a really bad urge to watch this episode one night but lacked the energy to go downstairs and do so. Instead I wrote this one shot drabble (if you squint) Spoilers for Aliens of London
The Doctor sidled out of the flat, guilty for leaving rose to deal with her mother and the gang of people inside, but knowing that he had to do this on his own. He had too much to lose if he took Rose with him.
'Promise you won't disappear?' Rose's cheerful voice asked behind him.
The Doctor grinned guiltily at her and searched through the numerous pockets of his leather jacket. He held out a sparkling golden key, laced on a chain and swung it gently in front of her face.
'TARDIS key, gather you'll be needing one now' and he placed it into her outstretched hands, a manic grin on his face.
'Thanks' she replied quietly, her eyes transfixed on the key. He smiled gently at her and pulled her into a tight hug, cupping the back of her head tenderly.
'I won't be long' he promised quietly to her before pressing a kiss to the top of her head and entangling his hands in her hair and pulling her body flush against his.
'Later' she said happily as he thundered down the steps of the flat. The Doctor grinned as he heard her quiet farewell and turned back to smile at her. God, he loved her.
A/N so, do you reckon this was a good substitute for the scene used in the actual episode? If you review and tell me I will personally make sure the ninth Doctor hugs you just like I wrote
