I had this idea and just loved it, I had to write it.

Harry looked around the kitchen of Grimmauld Place, mentally tallying everything in his head. He had picked up dinner(he was far too nervous to cook right now) from a place Ginny liked, he had asked Kreacher to help clean(which Kreacher did without a complaint), he had wine... Everything would be perfect.

Or, he was hoping. Ten minutes before, he had been asked by a frantic Andromeda to babysit four year old Teddy Lupin. Teddy was now sitting at the table, grinning widely and coloring in a Muggle coloring book that Hermione had given him. Harry had tried to say no to Andromeda, but she had to go to Narcissa's to help with some wedding related disaster that was about to befall Draco and Astoria- and Harry really did like helping people. And he adored Teddy, from his (usually) sandy brown hair to his grey eyes(so much like Sirius'). He even adored Teddy when he walked around with wolf ears for a month, despite witches on the streets muttering behind Harry's back.

"Hello?" Ginny called from the hallway. "Harry, I'm here! Where are you?"

"Kitchen!" Harry called back. After a few moments, she appeared in the doorway.

"And Teddy too, I see." Ginny said, smiling at Teddy, who grinned back.

"Last minute babysitting." Harry explained. "You don't mind, do you?"

"Mind?" Ginny asked, raising an eyebrow. "Have we met?" She stuck a hand out in a mocking manner. "Harry Potter, is it? I'm Ginny Weasley."

Harry laughed. "I just know you were expecting it to be just us."

"You know I love having Teddy around." Ginny said, patting Teddy's head. She looked at what Teddy was coloring. "Ooh, a pink cat. Very nice, Teddy."

"I told him cats aren't usually pink." Harry said, grabbing some plates.

"But Shanks is." Teddy said, nodding. Teddy, to Hermione's amusement, had decided Crookshanks' name was too long and decided to only call him Shanks. Surprisingly, Crookshanks didn't mind Teddy, despite hissing constantly around Remus during the summer Hermione had spent at Grimmauld before their fifth year.

"Crookshanks is orange." Harry reminded him. "Like Ginny's hair, right?"

"Right." Teddy agreed.

Ginny smiled at Harry. "Well, I like the pink cat. Very unique."

Ginny helped clean up Teddy's book and crayons while Harry placed food on the table. Ginny began spooning some roasted potatoes onto a plate for Teddy.

"Teddy, are you going to eat these potatoes? You always want them, but rarely eat them..." Ginny was saying.

"Harry has a ring." Teddy said proudly, smiling widely at her. "He's gonna give it to you."

Ginny dropped the spoon she was using, staring at Harry, who had dropped the container he was holding. Teddy was clearly under the impression that this was no secret, as he was still smiling widely.

Harry's face was bright red as Ginny gawked at him. He finally reached into his pocket, pulling out a small box and saying the first thing that he thought of.

"Uh... surprise?"
