He Season 6 Episode 9
Jon Snow made his way to the crypts under Winterfell. He was exhausted. The battle had drained his energy. Before he did anything else, Jon needed to pay his respects.
A candle in his hand, Jon made his way to his fathers tomb. His bones were sent from Kingslanding and laid to rest where his brother and sister remained. He stood in front of the tomb. He couldn't fully believe that his father was dead. Looking around the crypts, Jon could see the tombs of Starks laid to rest centuries ago. Robb should be here. Lady Catelyn should be here. Their bones were never recovered to be brought to Winterfell. It wasn't right. Taking a few steps, Jon's gaze fell on Lyanna Starks tomb. Father never talked about her. She was as much a mystery to him and she was to everyone. Tombs lined the large hallway. He would never have a place in these crypts. He was a Snow.
Jon's hand involuntarily want to his chest. Although he couldn't feel the scars through his armor, he knew they were there. He could still feel the knives entering his chest. The blades like ice as they entered his body.
"For the watch"
He was reminded of what his sworn brothers said after they stabbed him. His thoughts turned to Olly. The boy younger than Bran, stabbed him in the heart. Jon thought of Olly as his little brother. He trusted the boy. He would never forget the look in Olly's eyes as he pulled the knife from Jon's heart.
"For the watch".
Jon hanged Olly. He hanged the others who betrayed him, but Olly's betrayal hurt the most.
A noise by the enterence of the crypts drew Jon's attention. Two bannermen were carring Rickon's body. The men gave Jon looks of sympathy. They knew they carried Jon's brother. He was to be the Lord of Winterfell. The last of Eddard Starks true born sons. Robb, murdered at the Red wedding. Bran, assumed dead beyond the wall. The men lowered Rickon in his tomb and silently left the crypts, leaving Jon alone.
Jon walked towards his brothers tomb. He was small, stil young. His face held a neutral expression. It was unlike the one Rickon wore as he ran to Jon before the battle. The boy ran straight for Jon, fear plastered over his face. Rickon thought he had finally escaped Ramsey. He thought he was free. Right before the boy could reach Jon, the arrow went through his heart. Jon watched as the light drained from his brothers eyes. Blood dripping from his mouth as he took his final breath.
He positioned Rickon's arms over his chest and looked at his little brother for the last time. Your in a better place now, Jon thought. He closed the top of the tomb, sealing it. We will see each other, one day. He kissed his younger brother's forehead and brushed his hair from his eyes. Turning towards the door, Jon walked away from Rickon. The candle burned by the tomb, allowing Jon to see his fathers Tomb. I will see all of you again. Rest well. Jon left the crypts, thinking of all the people he has lost.
