Title: As I Drift Off To Sleep

Author: Rainbow Midgit

Disclaimer: I do not own CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. The only thing I DO own are the ideas.

Summary: Somebody is sleeping. But somebody else, isnt.

Author's Note: This story honestly has nothing to do with the show, except some of the character names. That is mainly for your benefit, because I fear, that if I wrote from the show's perspective, I would get things horribly wrong. I boycotted CSI these past two seasons, to show my hate for Geek Love...But I shouldnt have done that, so now I'm playing "Catch Up."

Please forgive me. =D A quick reminder for the story: Our favorite people are in high school. How fun. Except Grissom, he's 20 and graduated. Cath, Sara, Sofia and Nick are 18, and seniors, while Lindsey, Catherine's sister! not daughter, and Greg are 17, and juniors. Oh and Im making Nick and Greg related. Just because I want to. The rest will tell itself as the story unfolds.

Sofia opened her eyes to see the slumbering form of her girlfriend laying beside her. Her mother had been away for the weekend, so Sofia had invited her girlfriend of over a year to stay with her. She kissed her softly on the cheek not wanting to wake her, and headed to the kitchen to make breakfast.

Sara emerged from the bedroom about fifteen minutes later, coming and sliding her arms around Sofia's waist from behind her. "Morning baby."

Sofia leaned back into her embrace. "Morning. Did you sleep well?" She asked, turning in Sara's arms.

"Yes, I did." Sara pulled Sofia to her, claiming dominance. Sofia let her, until Sara started pulling her to the bedroom.

"Ah ah, we cant have that." Sofia smirked.

Sara faked a look of crestfallen-ness but then smiled back. "I know. Your parents are due home anytime now."

Sofia sighed, "I know. I love you."

"Love you, too." Sara answered moving off, further into the kitchen grabbing a cup for both she and Sofia.

Sofia went to finish cooking, setting Sara's plate in front of her, and claiming the seat next to her. They ate in contented silence, until keys sounded in the lock, notifying them her parents were home. They shared a smile, silently thanking the stars above they had thought to get dressed before coming out of the room. Sofia's mom and her boyfriend of 4 years, Daniel, knew about the girls, and didn't mind Sara sleeping over, but Sofia saw it as a sign of respect not to flaunt their relationship around her parents.

"Good morning girls, how was your weekend?" Sofia's mom asked as she and Daniel walked in, setting their luggage by the door to their bedroom. "Any plans for today?

"Well, actually mom, Nick invited us all to hang out at his house for a while and watch the Super Bowl. Is that ok?"

"I think that would be fine." She smiled at the girls.

"How was your weekend?" Sofia asked in return.

Daniel smiled at her and winked, and Sofia just laughed as her mother blushed. She was really beginning to like Daniel. She had always liked him, but lately he had been talking to her of marrying her mother, and Sofia wasn't as apposed to the idea as she thought she would be.

Daniel and Mary joined them for breakfast, after which, Sofia and Sara got ready to head out.

"I'll be back around midnight Mom." Sofia called as they walked out the door.

"Ok, just be safe honey." Mary called back.

They took Sofia's car, and headed to Nick's house, to enjoy the Sunday with their friends.
