Ok... This is my absolute first attempt at poetry, and I'm kinda nervous about submitting this on here. Heh. Anyhoo, this one is totally for the eInklings at TLC. You know who you are. Thank you guys so much for your encouragement and positive feedback - I wasn't planning to post this at all until writing group. So. Glompz 'n' huggles all 'round! :)

When all is well, the night is clear,
And deepest shadows hide no fear,
Then listen to the ancient song,
High and lovely, ever-strong,
Sung by stars since time was birthed;
Joined by all that roams the earth:
He will return;
He will return.

When darkness falls, when light gives way
To shadow, and hope slips away,
Then cling to this, when all seems lost;
When fruit and blossom fall to frost:
No night has come that did not flee
When morning rose beyond the sea.
He will return;
He will return.

When morning light spills from the sun,
Let your heart rejoice: the war is won!
Darkness vanquished; all made new
Curses broken; stained altar hewn
Grief turned backwards; terror slain
Golden breath melts icy chains
Look! He has returned;
He has returned.

Reviews are welcomed, as always. If you see anything that could be improved, tell me! Like I said, this is my very first poem (except for one that I apparently wrote as a five- or six-year-old, of which I have absolutely no memory, and hastily-scribbled English assignments, which don't count at all), so feel free to be harsh. There's always room for improvement, lol. Thanks!
