Naruto wanted to say many things to Sasuke as he stood in the door, pack slung over his shoulder. He wanted to shove the Uchiha up against the wall and claim those eternal smirking lips. He wanted more then a brotherly hug, and a spoken 'see ya later'.

But Naruto didn't.

He didn't give Sasuke the promise of forever and after. He didn't smile, but frowned, with memories of crashing at the brunettes place, being exhausted from the mission and unable to stumble home. He didn't dent the wall in a Sasuke-shaped print from a hormonal rampage. He wanted to, but he didn't.

And neither did Sasuke.

Last night Naruto wanted to do many more things as well. Last night, he wanted to play with the avengers hair, while he was sleeping of course. He wanted to hold the sleeping boy close, breathing murmurs into his ear. He wanted to kiss the others forehead, and grin at how daring he was.

But he didn't. And neither did Sasuke.

So he looked at Sasuke, seeing emotions play in those dark eye. Naruto knew Sasuke wanted many things to. Naruto wanted Sasuke to show him what was wanted. But Sasuke didn't, so neither did Naruto.

So the blond walked away, wanting and waiting for the day his "didn't"s could become "did".
