They sat on the pier, their feet dangling in the water; their faces turned up to the sky, watching the clouds go by.
Diving gear lay around them from where Eric had thrown it off, the wetsuit and equipment quickly drying in the bright Florida sunlight.
Calleigh watched her feet, moving them about in the beautiful clear, transparent water of the sea, the ripples pooling away from her legs.
It was peaceful, the sun just beating down on them. Eric was lying on the wood net to her, his feet kicking about in the water.
"Eric," she said after a while. "Did you really use to go treasure hunting when you were little?" He glanced up at her, trying to read her face, but she was partly turned away from him so it was hard.
"Yeah, I still do occasionally, but I've never found any, bar one piece." She looked down at him, leaning over him so her platinum blonde hair was just tickling his chest. He smiled, gently brushing some of the beautiful strands out of the way so he could see her green eyes.
"What does it look like?" He grinned, pushing himself up so he was resting on his elbows.
"Well, it's very beautiful. A real gem."
"Really? Do you think I could possibly see it some time?" His grin grew bigger as he leaned closer, his lips inches from her rich plump ones.
"You don't need to…it's you." She smiled slightly as he gently kissed her, wrapping his arms around his neck, pulling her down to his level.
Calleigh was a gem among gems. There was no treasure in the world that could compare to her; no pile of gold that could shine brighter than her hair and no love ever came from a pile of silver. No, Calleigh was his greatest treasure, and he wasn't going to share her with anyone.
