Cold.
As the first rays of sharp winter sunlight filter through the curtains and into the bedroom, Crowley stretches and shivers. Fuck, it's cold. In his semi-awake state, he shifts and attempts to pull the covers closer. Said covers promptly grunt and remove themselves. Now confused, annoyed and significantly colder, he opens one reptilian eye and takes in his surroundings. The covers are, in fact, not covers at all, but Aziraphale. The angel sits beside him in the bed, smiling at him through messy curls. Crowley manages a lazy smile in return before he gropes for the actual covers, pulls them over his head and turns over. Through the thick, soft fabric he hears Aziraphale chuckle and feels the angel's weight leave the bed. Not nearly awake enough to bother with the reason, he just sighs contentedly and falls back asleep.
When he wakes again, it is to the pleasant smell of fresh coffee. Sufficiently rested and warmed, he sits up and runs a hand through his dark hair. The bedroom door swings open and Aziraphale enters, carrying two cups of steaming coffee. When he reaches the bed, Crowley stretches to give him a soft, appreciative kiss before taking his cup with long, thin fingers. Aziraphale resumes his earlier place next to him on the bed, and for several minutes they just sit there, drinking their coffee in silence. It is safe and comfortable and wholly perfect; the coffee, with its subtle hint of cardamom beneath the expensive, dark-roasted coffee beans; the bed, with soft pillows and softer covers; the cold sunlight, the way it hits Aziraphale's still ruffled blond hair and makes it shine like gold. They bask in the presence of each other until finally, after a moment that lasts a lifetime, Crowley rubs the last of the sleep from his eyes, turns to Aziraphale and says "Good morning, angel." There's an I love you there too – it's not spoken, not this time, but they both know it's there, and so Aziraphale smiles and kisses him on the cheek before the spell inevitably breaks and the day begins for real. It is a good day.
