Marriage

The moonlight streaks in, gently bathing the two in its soft glow. She stirs a bit unable to fall into slumber turning, she comes to face him. Tenderly brushing aside the brown tendrils of hair that blocked his now serene face, life was hardly a fairy tale for the two of them.

She was mending a broken heart and soul and he was just starting to find himself and the two stuck together. It may have been desperation or just loneliness that drove them to cling to one another, not two whole pieces that made one, just two pieces that stood side-by-side now glued to one another.

As she thought about it, her fairytale ending as she always imagined as a child never materialised. One thing that she was thankful for was finding him, without him there really was nothing left in her life. Yawning slightly, she gave in to the night and cuddled closer to him just enough to feel his warmth but also not too near to protect the life now within her. As she drifts off into sleep, she sees his smile in her mind and is just grateful that she has a family of her own to spend the rest of her life with.
