Prologue

Emmett POV

I finally understood why Edward was so protective of Bella. Finally understood why he became lifeless. Who would not? Watching those eyes that use to be so bright and merry, only now it was filled with pain and betray. And it was all because of me, what I said, what I did. As a single tear trailed down her cheeks, it took all my will power not to take her in my arms, wipe that tear away and comfort her. Tell her that nothing I said was true, that I was not leaving her. Suddenly it dawned on me, why was I feeling like this? Why the hell did I feel so much pain while looking into those hallow eyes? She was nothing to me. Right?
