Bunny Ears….

Draco Malfoy sat on a bench, in the middle of a muggle park, in the middle of muggle London. You may ask, what had brought him here. The simple answer being, he wanted to get away from the looks he was being given by every wizard he came across.

He watched all the little kids squealing and running around. Parents queuing up in front of ice-cream vans. Dogs lying in the sun. There were so many colours in the place. Balloons. Banners. And many chocolate eggs.

That's right. Easter. He didn't really understand the point of it; children ate the chocolate, making them hyper. Adults watched their children with pure 'joy' at the thought that their kids were having a good time. He could see many people dressed as rabbits, with baskets full of sweets and chocolate.

Each basket had multi-coloured tassels hanging off it, and each was woven quite delicately. One particular person caught his eye.

A young woman with long brown curls. She wore short shorts, displaying her never ending legs to everyone and a summery top. She had a pair of bunny ears on her head and basket hanging off her arm. He looked at her closely, she was facing away from him and he willed her to turn around.

As if she had heard his thoughts, the young woman turned her whole body around, a few curls falling loosely around her face. As soon as she turned around, Draco's mouth dropped open in shock, as did hers when she caught his eyes.

"M-Malfoy?" She spoke clearly but uncertainly.

He nodded, "Granger, what are you doing here?" He asked, getting over his shock a bit.

"I could ask you the same question," She commented, walking towards him.

He glared playfully, "I asked first,"

"I asked second," She shot back.

He gave her an impressed look, "Well played," He noted, shifting on the bench so as to make room for her. She rolled her eyes and sat down.

"You sound so surprised Malfoy," She said, smiled slightly. He shrugged.

"So what's with the ears?" He asked, eyeing them with a strange look. She blushed lightly.

"Gotta fit in with the holiday," She answered. She took them off her head and put them on Malfoy's. He glared. "Wow, they suit you Malfoy." She said playfully.

He rolled his eyes, "I bet they do," Hermione giggled. "To answer your question, I wanted to get away from everyone, looks like some people couldn't help but follow me," He spoke with a pointed look at Hermione.

"Well I'm sorry, but considering I live over there-" She pointed to a small house opposite the park, "I do believe it is you following me."

"Whatever helps you sleep at night," He commented. A wind blew her hair around her face, her curls blowing everywhere.

She put her basket down and tried to control her hair, Draco sighed. "Come here Granger," He said. Reaching around her he pulled her hair into a pony tail and then with his left hand he moved some stray locks away from her face.

Hermione's breath caught in her throat as she noticed how close they were, he too came to the realisation but he didn't move his hand and his face moved an inch closer to hers.

She licked her lips as he moved closer some more, she knew what was going to happen and in a way she wanted it too. He closed his eyes and as he was about to kiss her she grabbed some chocolate and shoved in his mouth, causing him to open his eyes and almost choke.

Her eyes glistened playfully and she grabbed the basket, got up from the bench and started skipping away. "Happy Easter Malfoy, you can keep the bunny ears!" She called after her.

Draco watched her and smirked, suddenly this park seemed like a very interesting place…
