Hi guys! Finally, a story from me. And not some crappy Shakespeare reincarnation that I did for school. This one will have some meaning… or I hope it will. Anyway. Characters are not mine, as I am a poor uni student struggling to support my horse. :(
I have also drawn a lot of inspiration for this story from cylobaby's wonderful story, Lady Velisna. Seriously guys, it is a must read for James/Lily fans. 3 Also, by Sierra Sitruc's, Flirting With the Enemy. It just really helped me get in the mood for writing this, even though I have par more important stuff to do
Stun and Run
Chapter 1:
…Hearing footsteps approaching, she risked a quick glance around the corner. Her eyes widened, before promptly spinning and quickly running the other way. She was not ready for this!
Her heatbeat pounded. She must do it and cannot be caught! So much depended upon this mission- she must not fail. Mentally, she thought if her sister- she would suffer from the Dark Lord's if she failed. Ducking around another corner, she flattened herself against the wall and tried to ease her breathing.
The footsteps approached and paused.
Lily pressed herself further into the wall, desperately wishing she had her wand. Not that she needed it she thought bitterly, running her mind over all her vigorous training sessions. They had prepared her well for this- stun and run. So why was she hesitating? What was stopping her from achieving the one thing that would ensure her sister's safety?
The footsteps came closer. Soon they would be right upon her. She had to decide now. Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath she decided, throwing her dark hood over her face.
"… for Petunia." She whispered before launching herself around the corner towards the Auror, hate overcoming her.
"… Who left you, an innocent girl- without protection?" The Dark Lord's voice hissed in her mind.
"Stupefy!" she hissed, waving her hand forcibly.
" I can offer you this protection…but just in case you were to say no…"
The body hit the ground with a thump.
"…Avada Kedavra!"
Lily didn't look. Her instructions were clear- Stun and Run. Seeing another Auror ahead, she waved her hand dismissively in his direction, not breaking stride. The man flew into the wall with a crack. She winced at the sound, feeling a twinge of sympathy, hesitating for a second. A second was all the approaching Aurors needed, sending a range of spells flying towards her. Pain exploded from her left arm. "NO!" her mind screamed, shaking herself free of her betraying thoughts and letting the darkness consume her once more. She had no other choice. That kind of thinking would get her killed.
She gave a smug smile towards the approaching Aurors, counting at least 7. "Oh, this would be only too easy…"
