Hello, people! I'm really sorry for not updating on this story, which was left at a cliffhanger. I didn't get around to finishing it and I'm really sorry for that. After watching more of the show, I revamped this story at bit. The characters may seem really OC, and, I'll admit, I may have not CAPTURED what Kuroko and Kagami's true partnership is really like. SORRY. I HATE MYSELF.

Kagami couldn't have felt any more frustrated.

After the match with Aomine, Kuroko had become more distant from the team. That is, until she finally just...vanished. She had just taken off without warning or even changing out of her jersey during practice. She had just grabbed her sweater and...vanished (DUH). Out of the gym and into the city area. Probably still shaken up by his angry outburst. So, obviously, the Seirin team had made him go out and look for her. So Kagami threw on his jacket and sweat-pants, and set out.

Well, after he regained feeling to his legs.

That is why there is a pissed-off Kagami tearing his hair out right now in the middle of the street. He knew just how screwed he was after coming to realize the exact circumstances. Exactly how does one find someone that is technically "invisible" in this giant city area?! And it wasn't as if Kagami was fine with running around the city. He may have regained his legs, but it was as if he was walking on meaty stilts. So combine weird-waddling and his abnormal height, and he was a walking freak show that everyone stopped to gawked at.

Kagami was, obviously, in a great mood right now. Angry, tired, and worried is never a good combination. His search had lasted from the afternoon until now, the day turning into night. But his focus was more on the blue-haired phantom player who was out there somewhere; in the city night with no real direction.

"DAMN IT! HAS ANYONE SEEN A BLUE-HAIRED GIRL IN A JERSEY RUNNING AROUND!?" he cried out, making more people gawk at the psycho. He clutched his hair hard and squeezed his eyes shut, hoping that when he opened them again that she'd appear there, right out of thin air. When he did open his eyes, however, he wasn't greeted with what he wanted. But then something caught his eye.

Right across from the street he saw his and Kuroko's favorite fast-food restaurant, and right outside it had a sign taped to the window, saying, "FREE MILKSHAKES!"

He immediately had an idea.

"I GOT IT!" he yelled towards the heavens, pumping his arms up in triumph, causing more people to stare at the crazy man.

He ran onto the street and traffic towards what he was looking at. (AND BY RAN I MEAN WADDLED FASTER)

Kagami stood within the Maji Burger restaurant, a little winded from his walk. Taking in his knowledge of Kuroko's absolute love for vanilla milkshakes and this sale she obviously couldn't refuse, he knew she would come running. So, he planned to wait inside until she would just walk in herself.

"And then I'll finally get to Kuroko!" Kagami explained enthusiastically to the cashier, his almost tiger-like gaze only adding to his massive grin. The young man felt a sweatdrop slid down his face.

"Is that so?" he cowered behind the counter. He scratched his forehead with his finger for a while, before saying, "How exactly will you get to her without just scaring her off again?"

The reaction was immediate. Kagami's smile quickly turned into a frown as he slammed his fist on the counter, making the cashier and the people around him jump. "DAMN IT, I forgot about that!" Kagami breathed out angrily, seething with rage. He stopped when he felt the frail cashier tap his shoulder. When he turned around, he found the cashier with his elbows on the counter, deep in thought.

He was trembling a little, but he managed to look at Kagami and peep out, "I might have an idea..."

The doors to the restaurant opened, and in walked Kuroko. Clad in a puffy grey sweater and white shorts that just barely passed her knees. She had her same emotionless face. Her eyes darted from side to side, corner to corner of the resturant, before she made her way towards the counter. She had to wave a little in front of the counter to get the attention of the cashier, and in the process startled the man right behind her. "Where did she come from? Oh my..."

The cashier stared at the small girl, like if he took his eyes off her for one second, she'd disappear. He walked towards the counter, and smiled. "Welcome. How may I help you?" he asked calmly.

"One milkshake, Jumbo-size please." Kuroko said nonchalantly. But a slight grin crept onto her face, probably due to the fact that it was FREE. The man nodded and went to retrieve her order. He soon came back with a giant white cup, capped, with the store logo on it.

The cup was barely fitting in his one hand.

He managed to place it in front of her without spilling or dropping it, and made a small sigh in relief. Kuroko muttered a silent "Thank you" before she turned around to go sit down. The cashier tapped her shoulder before she was almost out of reach, and she turned around.

"There's a free table over there," he explained kindly, pointing at a table area right beside the windows. She nodded at him, and she walked to the table to enjoy her drink.

But as soon as she sat down, the table began to shake violently. A giant hand reach out from underneath the table, the beast groaning deeply. A figure began to rise from the opposite end of the table. It was almost like some beast coming out from under the bed seats.

As the table beginning to rip off it's base and the figure was almost freed, Kuroko turned to the cashier at the counter, who had an unsure smile and confused eyes.

"What have you done?" she asked as if she was panicking. But in an emotionless fashion. Soon, the figure popped out and...

"CAUGHT-wheeze- YOU!" Kagami cried out as he popped out from under the table, his hands gripping the table side and his face red from exhaustion. "OH MAN, IT'S TIGHT UNDER THERE!"

He struggled to pull himself out completely from the tight space. After he was done pulling out, he was greeted with a solid-hard hand-chop to the head.

"Ow, Kuroko! WHAT THE HELL!?" he cried out angrily, earning him back the eyes of the people around him. Kuroko didn't seem to mind. She stood there, staring at her red-haired partner. "That scared me so much, Kagami! You made me scream!" Kuroko exclaimed to him. Kagami got more frustrated as his hand went to rub the spot Kuroko hit him.

"Like hell! You didn't even make a peep!" Kagami complained irritatedly . "No matter what, you're always too stoic and calm!" Kuroko continued to look at him questionably as she sat down again. Kagami took the seat opposite of her. When she didn't object, he slumped down, sighing. "Oh God, I feel like crap," he muttered out miserably as his body thanked him for finally letting it rest. Kuroko was still staring at him in question.

"Why did you come looking for me?" she asked plainly, although her small edge of worry also added, "even with you injuries?" Kagami felt words fail him. He was so emotionally drained from getting to her that he forgot HOW he was going to respond. "Well, um, I..." he stuttered. His breaths started quickening. He was becoming angry at himself. 'Come on, you can't suck up now!' he cried to himself. Kuroko watched his movements, his face, his breathing.

She opened her mouth to respond, "Kagami, I-."

"WAIT!" Kagami finally yelled out at her in desperation. Kuroko fell silent. He didn't care if people looked at him again (which they did). She stared into his eyes for a while, before settling back into her spot. "Just...wait. Let...me explain," Kagami spoke slowly, his voice almost becoming a whisper, probably part of the reason being from exhaustion. Kuroko was now awaited his response. Taking a deep breath, he spoke in a gentle tone.

"I'm...well, sorry," he began softly, " I...didn't want to scare you like that. I know things are...different with your team now, and I shouldn't have brought that feeling back up. I..shouldn't have started getting ahead of myself."

An awful silence formed.

"You're right," she whispered to him. He was surprised by her even speaking at this point. He leaned in to make out her very quiet words. "You were acting like them. My old team. You were acting like them." She looked down at her lap, her drink forgotten. "My team...that left me," she peeped out weakly. Kagami saw her begin to tremble, as if she was beginning to tear up. Kagami felt his heart crack. His assumption was right. 'She's scared that...' his thought trailed off.

This wasn't the only time. During the match with Midorima, he had an outburst. He was under the impression that he can only win by his own strength. That he couldn't rely on others.

That he didn't need Kuroko. Like he couldn't trust her.

He clenched and unclenched his fist until he stood up and walked over to her side of the table. He sat down and wrapped his arms around her, embracing her. She was taken aback by his very kind gesture, and before she could question him, he leaned near her ear.

"I'll never leave you," he whispered sincerely.

Kuroko's mind blurred. She slurped into Kagami's warm embrace, feeling her body begin to ease. She had heard what she wanted. Kagami knew that he had succeeded. Before she could begin to feel doubt, he continued.

"I want to beat the Generation, not become one of them. Didn't I tell you that before?" he smiled warmly, which received a small one from her as she recalled that memory. The promise they made. "I need you by my side. The only way we're strong...is with each other." It was true. He needed her, and he knew well that she needed him. He didn't want her to be alone, after all she's been through. She had done a lot for deserved better, and he was going to give that to her.

"You are a baka," she snuggled into his big body."But thank you."

When he tried to sit up to go back to his seat, she only settled more into his lap. He took this as a good sign and stayed. "I'm your friend, always. Don't let anyone come between that. Especially Kise," he added, which earned him a laugh from his companion. She quickly remembered her drink on the table, and grabbed it in her hands. This really was her day. She sipped from the straw happily. She lifted her cup, offering it to Kagami. He happily sipped, realizing just how exhausted he was.

"Indirect kiss," Kuroko muttered silently, her smile growing.

Kagami's next outburst made her laugh, and others stare.
