Myles's New Big Brother
Yesterday, I got a big brother. Butler called Mommy on the telephone. She got excited and yelled to Daddy. He came running downstairs.
"He's returned!" said Mommy.
"Who?" asked Daddy.
"Arty!" said Mommy.
They kissed. Gross! I asked them what they were talking about. "You have a big brother," said Mommy. "He disappeared before you were born. We didn't know that he was going to come back, but Butler found him this morning."
I was so excited! I ran upstairs and told Beckett. He didn't get it.
"Mommy's having a baby?" he asked.
"No, silly!" I said. I told him what Mommy had told me.
"Cool," he said.
We went to Butler's house. I met my brother. His name was Artemis. He was really pale and he had dark black hair. He was also really dirty. I asked why he was so dirty, but he wouldn't tell me. I asked why he disappeared. He wouldn't tell me that either. Then I tripped and got a boo-boo on my hand. Artemis held my hand and told me to look at Beckett. I did, but Beckett didn't do anything. Artemis whispered something. I looked at him. He pointed at my hand and left. Artemis is really weird. I looked at my hand. My boo-boo was gone! I think Artemis must be magic.
