Explanation: This was a project I had to do for school connected to the
book Beowulf. I had to write a lay, which is a sort of poem type thing. It
was basically supposed to be based on your hero and a certain event in
their life, and well, not knowing whom else, I used the Doctor.
The style basically uses alliteration, kennings and epithets… please don't ask me to explain what those last two are, but they're in there.

1 The Lord of Time
Time stood still where war was won.
Life's cradle raped by metal-clad monsters,
their fangs bleeding with unnatural fire. No man,
no son of Earth could stop
the fiends. And the sparrow's highway burned.
Their evil reign, the unkind kings soon came
to dread the arrival of the time-dancing traveler.
Healer of worlds and Chronos' kin,
stranger to the land. With thought alone,
he did slay the beasts that craved for power.
The creatures crumbled under the Lord Of Time
and his strength of mind. When he
left Mother's Children to build a new,
the visitor vanished in a box of blue,
where he dwells in the places unscathed by man.
