Author's Note: This is basically a romance fic. The couplings are the usual ones. However, I have made few changes in this fic regarding the original CCS plotline.
Xiao Lang has lost both his parents and lives with his aunt and cousins Eriol and Meiling (Yes, Meiling is Eriol's sister in this fic). I have also left out few main characters.

Queen Li Megumi: Widowed queen of China and Japan.
Kinomoto Fujitaka: A wealthy, renowned merchant of Japan.
Prince Li Eriol (A/N- I know the surname is Hiirigizawa but the storyline demands this change): Son of Li Megumi.
Prince Li Xiao Lang: Nephew of Li Megumi. Li Eriol's cousin.
Li Meiling: Daughter of Li Megumi. Eriol's sister.
Kinomoto Sakura: Daughter of Kinomoto Fujitaka. Also the Mistress of the Clow Cards.
Daidouji Tomoyo: Sakura's best friend.

A young boy walked down the hallways of the royal palace as he watched the guards saluting him. He merely nodded, his mind curious as to why his aunt had summoned him. His trustful sword, which had once belonged to his father, held firmly by his side. His green robe swishing as he walked. To the onlooker the 16-year-old was truly a majestic sight.
He stopped in front of the room which he recognized as his aunt's. Two ladies-in-waiting led him inside. "You called Aunt Megumi?" the boy asked a lady sitting in the centre of the room. The lady motioned the two ladies-in- waiting to leave the room, and then spoke "Yes, Xiao Lang. I have an important matter to discuss with you."
"And what would that be?" the young boy enquired.
"Pray, sit down, dear nephew. Well, this important matter is regarding your cousin. You are well aware of our customs. By the time the Prince reaches the age of 17, he must find a suitable wife for himself. Eriol will be 17 next month. And I have thought of the perfect wife for him: the Card Mistress. Her name is Kinomoto Sakura, daughter of one of the most prosperous merchants of our Empire. I have already met her. She is very gentle, well-mannered and pretty as well. What do you feel? How would it be if she were to be the future queen of the Li Empire?"
"Why are you asking me this question aunt Megumi. Isn't cousin Eriol the one who you should discuss this with?"
"I will ask him also, but I wanted to ask you first, Xiao Lang. You are like a real brother to Eriol. I know that whatever decision I may take regarding Eriol, I must ask you first."
"I am sure your decision is the right one Aunt Megumi. But I would say that you should discuss this with him as well."
"Of course I will. And I'm sure he would agree with me. After all, he's my son."
