AN: Wow…I only got this idea from a certain fan art. I've got no absolute assurance though that the one who was going to hold Haru's hand was Gokudera so…anyhow…if you like it, please review it!
BTW, I still don't know what I'm supposed to write in an author's note...

I don't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn, or any of its characters.

The church bells were ringing, the guests were quite anticipative. The bride was looking lovely in her white dress. Sparkels seem to surround her in an unrealistic way.

Haru wished it could've been her but it wasn't.

"Do you, Kyoko Sasagawa take this man as your lawfully wedded husband?"

It was tearing her apart to watch this but she had to. Being the best friend of the bride, she had to feel happy...right? Her eyes began to look glassy.

"And do you, Tsunayoshi Sawada take this woman as your lawfully wedded wife?"

Haru's heart wanted to scream in agony at that moment. But she couldn't. Not right now.

The minister began speaking of the exchange of rings as the exchange of vows...his voice seemed to echo everywhere in the church...

Not that Tsuna hadn't made it clear to Haru that he couldn't return her feelings; and never ever will. Of course, it had begun in college when Tsuna and Kyoko had started dating, shortly after graduation. Haru had been hoping for a "the first relationship doesn't usually last" kind of thing. But with her best friend so bubbly and happy about it how could she?

They were moving in for the kiss that would bind them together for life. She already felt the tears coming and tried not to give in…not to give in…

When a hand suddenly enveloped hers. She looked up and saw Gokudera's face; the same face of the teenage boy whom she used to fight about with random things like Lambo. He was fifteen then, so there wasn't much Haru could do. But looking into Gokudera's eyes she saw the same sadness and feeling of resentment-the person they cared for the most was going to be taken away.

There was no exchange of words as the two held hands in the second pew. Only three squeezes which Haru knew meant I love you. She squeezed his hand twice. Me too. It wasn't much of a start, but with two broken hearts sitting in a church, it could be the start of a long way to healing.
