It was easy to deceive one self, because we're all such confident fools. It was even easier to believe others, because we all think that it was impossible for them to lie to us. We would have never expected them to.

He opened the door to the still house, not even giving a notice to the deathly silent and strewn clothes all about. His eyes followed up to the stairs, where a trail of magazines and miscellaneous objects occupied. He took a step forward, and fell into the abyss.

-\\His soul room has always been dark. So frighteningly dark... but why did it have such childlike toys laying around? Stuffed animals, favorite photos...

... all to comfort him. All to _LIE_ to him. He wanted to scream.

But his body wouldn't allow it.\\-

A sinister smile crept over his features- beautiful features, as if hand crafted and sculpted by a divinity itself. But the cruelty that was the essence himself was there, and it could _never_ be hidden. The soul trapped within wanted to scream.

But he wouldn't allow it.

-\\He wanted to tear out his eyes, because he didn't want to see that reflection. That face wasn't his- why won't anyone believe him? His eyes weren't the color of acid blood- they were just the dull brown of earth. His voice didn't make him want to beg God for mercy- but this one could make the Devil sink to his knees and whimper with pure horror...

... why won't they believe _me_?\\-

He was sitting on a swing, hands clenched around the seat. The long whispy strands of silvery hair adorned his face, one that was as pale as it was sad. As it was desperate, so wonderfully and amazingly hopeless. The wind played with the shadows, unknown to the dangers lurking within the absorbed depths.

Just as the light played and teased with the darkness, danced and made love to the darkness, believing that the darkness could never betray them.

And it was true. The darkness never could.

-\\ The darker one's hands threaded into his light's hair, pulling, tugging, and desperately trying to claim those lips for his own. Their passions burnt them, fueled them, pushed them apart and pulled them back together. The light gasped into the crook of his shadow's neck, those sweet hands clutching so that their bodies could be closer together. A mere moan, and it sent the shadow into a frenzy and he ravished the light.

'Voice... no. My dark.. what are you?' those ochre eyes looked delirious, dazed, and alluringly pitiful. The dark reached out and cupped his chin, drawing him close, nipping at his neck.

'I... I am a spirit.' his thumb swept over those kiss-bruised lips, taking in a sharp breath.

'And you are mine.'\\-

Bakura Ryou snapped from up from his fallen position, and rubbed the slight injury taken from the mishap. He sat himself back up, his shoulder and neck oddly sore and red. He didn't understand why, but only thoughts of a vague 'dream' remained...

-\\'Spirit, could you... could you just... /pretend/ to... to..' the younger one clung to him, face buried into the ancient's chest.

Yami no Bakura smiled.

Because the darkness could never, ever lie to the light.//-
