"Excuse me, Blues!"
Blues turned. The navi behind him was draped completely in
a black sheet, with two eyeholes for sight. The red navi was at a loss, until
he glanced down at the navi's feet.
"Is there any specific reason for your sheet,
Glyde?" Blues asked skeptically.
"G-Glyde? How on Earth did you... I mean, no, I am
not Glyde! I am a frightening ghost navi! Ooo! Ooo!!"
"Of course." Blues muttered.
"And I have a message from beyond deletion!" The
ghost navi continued. "Enzan must come alone to the rose garden in the
park at midnight tonight!"
"And why would he want to do something like
that?"
The Ghost Navi was silent. "You trust not the word of
a ghost?"
"I trust not the word of a navi in a sheet."
"...Please, just go. I'll get yelled at if he
doesn't."
-----------------
Enzan yawned, leaning a lone streetlight, next to the rose
garden. It was quite obvious why Yaito wanted him out here this late. She
wasn't very experienced at hiding her feelings, that was for sure. The
skunk-haired boy, on the other hand, had trained himself to do so since
childhood.
Yaito had good reason to hide any affection toward Enzan.
After all, his family and hers had been at odds with each other for centuries.
His company, IPC, and her father's, Gabcom, were rivals in the business of
comptuer entertainment. Yaito had no intention of going against her father's
wishes.
Until tonight, apparently. Enzan smirked, hearing
footsteps. Here she comes.
"E-Enzan!" Yaito exclaimed, "I... I... was
the one to call you here."
I'll play dumb for the moment, see what she does...
"Oh, did you? And why is that?"
"I..." Yaito blushed furiously. "That
is..."
"Go on." Enzan urged with a smirk. "I'd
like to know why I shouldn't be sleeping now."
Yaito bit her lip. "Well... Enzan... You're
not..." She choked, "You're not as big of a jerk... as I used to
think you were."
"Is that so?"
"Y-yeah... in fact... maybe..." She glanced
around. "Maybe I kinda... like you."
"Oh, really?" Enzan's voice was peppered with
sarcasm.
"But... but only just a little!" She added
quickly.
Enzan was silent, pondering this. Well, she finally
said it. Now, how should I respond? He closed his eyes, thinking, then
looked down at the blonde haired girl. "Yaito," he began, "If I
have to crouch down to waist level to kiss somebody, I have no intention of
dating them."
Yaito's blush deepened, but this time, it was from fury.
She opened her mouth to insult him, but instead yelped as Enzan lightly grabbed
her under the shoulders and lifted her up into his arms.
Yaito was now at eye-level with Enzan. He was calm, she
was confused... and maybe scared. What do I say?! Yaito thought
urgently, but found that she couldn't say anything, because her mouth was covered
with Enzan's.
After a moment, Enzan pulled back, and smiled. "Lucky
for you, you're light enough to lift up."
Yaito blushed. Again.
