Tamera Cheswick was no ordinary girl. Her family were meta-humans; humans born with extraordinary superpowers, descended from legends. So that she could receive specialist coaching with others of her type, Tamera attended a meta-human high school named Monadikos High where she would learn to develop and control her power, until she could enter the human world, safely. But is locking one-thousand meta-humans up together really that smart? Because when they use their powers, not all goes exactly to plan ...

'Tamera Cheswick! You will not be going back to school if you don't get up here and tidy this bedroom! Oh and by the way young lady, turning your stains invisible is not my idea of cleaning!'

Tamera groaned. Her mother had become wise to all of her sneaky room-cleaning strategies, as Tamera called them. Her mother called it cheating, but you can't please everyone.

'But MUM, Lauren will be here soon, and you know her mum doesn't like waiting!'

Her mother threw her suitcase down the stairs. It clattered down past Tamera's feet and burst open, spilling clothes everywhere.

'She won't need to wait, because you won't be going to the damned school!'

'Ugh.'

Tamera stormed up to her room and looked at the mess on her floor. There were piles of paper and books everywhere and her duvet was on the floor, underneath a pile of sweet wrappers and clothes.

'BEEP BEEP!'

'Mum, Lauren's here!'

She didn't even wait for an answer before she flew down the stairs and out of the door, into the arms of her best friend Lauren. Lauren grinned at her. She had waist length blonde hair, which had been tied into lots of little plaits, and was wearing a blue check shirt, tied at her belly-button with black leggings and sneakers.

'Tamera!' Lauren yelled.'Lauren!' Tamera yelled.

They hugged furiously then grabbed each others elbows and giggled.

'So,' Lauren laughed. 'Where's this tan from? You usually look like a little dead person!'

It was true. Tamera was small and curvy with black hair, blue eyes, a silver nose piercing and her skin was white as paper.

'The mother dragged me off to Spain. It would have been fun if it weren't for Tallulah and Tessa screaming the hotel down, throwing food everywhere and splashing me in the pool!'

Tallulah and Tessa were Tamera's devilish twin sisters. Everyone seemed to think they were little angels, even Lauren, because they played that way. But when they were alone with Tamera they became a huge pain in the butt. Unfortunately Lauren had a soft spot for them as well.

'Awwww, they're lovely really!' Cooed Lauren, infuriatingly.

'NO!' Tamera grinded her teeth.

'Ok' ok! Come on, get in the car, Mum'll be doing her nut.'

She was.

'Tamera! About time you appeared you outrageous little muppet!'

'Tamera, you have NOT tidied that room!'

Tamera's own mother stormed out of the door in her slippers, yelling and shaking her fists. She stopped short when she saw Tamera in Mrs Day's car, chatting to Lauren.

'Oh. Um, haha.'

Her mother smiled fakely.

'Tamera, honey. You forgot you case.'
