Sam sighed, and plopped herself down on a bench at a table across from Danny and Tucker. The two didn't even turned around. She raised her eyebrow, and strained to see what they were looking at. Sam growled as she saw what they were staring at. The most evil person ever. Paulina.

Small town homecoming queen
She's the star in this scene
There's no way to deny she's lovely
Perfect skin, perfect hair
Perfumed hearts everywhere
Tell myself that inside she's ugly
Maybe I'm just jealous
I can't help but hate her
Secretly I wonder if my boyfriend wants to date her

God, she is the most annoying person ever! screamed Sam in her thoughts. She hated the girl's guts, and wished she was dead. When Paulina was around, her two best friends ignored her. Or they didn't she was there. Either way, they still didn't turn around and talk to her. I mean. What's so great about Paulina? Sure she's the most popular girl in school… She wins all of the guys.. Ugh. She even won prom queen that year.

She is the prom queen I'm in the marching band
She is a cheerleader I'm sitting in the stands
She gets the top bunk I'm sleeping on the floor
She's Miss America and I'm just the girl next door

Sam sighed sadly again. Paulina seemed so much better than her. Paulina was pretty, popular, pretty, charming, and dumb. Sam did realize that she was smarter than her, but the guys didn't care. Boys actually liked girls that were pretty and stupid.

Senior class president
She must be heaven sent
She was never the last one standing
A backseat debutaunt
Everything that you want
Never to harsh or too demanding
Maybe I'll admit it
I'm a little bitter
Everybody loves her but I just wanna hit her

Sam thought of that one song. It was my some Jane person. The song fit until the part about how the girl was smart and the Senior Class president. Paulina couldn't even figure out 2+2. It would probably lower her IQ even more. Even though, no guys liked her. She liked Danny, but no. He's chasing after Paulina. Tucker was too, but… who cared about Tucker? Sam sighed and stared longily at Danny. I wish I was Paulina.

She is the prom queen I'm in the marching band
She is a cheerleader I'm sitting in the stands
She gets the top bunk I'm sleeping on the floor
She's Miss America and I'm just the girl next door
Oh and I'm just the girl next door

Sam began thinking. Why should she… SAM… want her to be Paulina? Who would want to be her? She'll be a nobody in the real world. I'm really just a girl next door, but they always have the better life wether they realized it or not. Heck! She was better than Paulina. She had two true friends, no best friends right here in front of her. Sam had it way better than Paulina. Paulina was just shallow with all her friends that would turn on her in a second for someone more popular. Sam a great life. She didn't popularity and all of it's seemingly glory. She was perfectly happy on how her life was now. She smiled to herself.

I don't know why I'm feeling sorry for myself
I spend all my time wishing that I was someone else

She is the prom queen I'm in the marching band
She is a cheerleader I'm sitting in the stands
I get a little bit, she gets a little more
She's Miss America and... she's Miss America
I'm just the girl next door...

"I really am the girl next door… And it's going to stay that way."
