Cas turned his gaze to Sam "No, your brother is fine. But I need help"
Sam let out the breath he had been holding and his shoulders dropped in relief. "Ok Cas, what is it?"
"I think I am unadapted to the cold outside." Cas shivered. Sam suddenly realised that his trenchcoat was soaked in late winter snow, his shoes were dripping and his lips were blue, cheeks pale.
"Come on then Cas." Sam put his arm around the small of his back and guided the frozen man to his bedroom. He removed the trenchcoat, hanging it over a chair. He made Castiel take off his shoes, socks and wet trousers and sat him down with a blanket from the cupboard. "Wait here a second Cas" After nipping to the kitchen and turning on the kettle Sam jogged to his room and grabbed another blanket and a shirt. He strolled back into the room to find Cas half wrapped in the blanket and trembling violently all over, gazing glassily ahead.
"Woah Cas, come here." Sam hurried over to him and cupped one icy-cold cheek with his large hands. He put down his little bundle and stood him up. He removed the blanket and helped a confused Cas shrug off his jacket and shirt, enjoying the excuse to run his hands down Castiel.
"Sam, this isn't helping." Cas said, managing a grumpy voice despite his shaking. Sam lifted his own shirt over his head, without missing the little gasp from Cas,and shoved it onto him, transferring his body heat, then pulled him in for a long, warm hug. He giggled because the sleeves hung off the ends of Cas's hands and the hem dropped to the top of his thighs. He sat him down, draped the blanket back over Castiels bare legs and tended to the screeching kettle.
Cas had stopped shaking when Sam came back with two mugs of hot chamomile tea ,the only thing in the low stocked cupboard, and his lips had returned to the pale rosy pink they usually were. Sam slumped onto the bed andhanded one of the mugs over to Castiel "Here, this will warm you up."
Cas eyed the drink with curiousity and took a sip. Sam burst out laughing as Cas screwed his face up in disgust.
"I don't like it." Cas said, blunt as usual. They sat in comfortable silence while Sam finished his tea, and Cas held on to his, then Sam draped his arm over Castiels shoulders.
"Warm enough yet?
Sam led down with his head against the pillows and pulled Cas with him, lying his head against his warm stomach.` Sam ran his fingers through the dark hair, earning happy little moans from Cas. Suddenly, Cas scooted up so he was on top of Sam and facing the side of his head. He pressed a short, sweet kiss to Sam rough jaw and whispered sweet nothings into his ear. With Cas's warm breath tickling his ear and the huge cosy pile of blankets on top of them, Sam began to drift off into a peaceful, dreamless sleep, the first in weeks. Just before he dozed off fully, he felt Castiel nuzzle into his chest, head tucked underneath Sam's chin.
He woke with the feeling of someone watching him and glanced through his eyelashes to find a pair of sleepy blue eyes very close to his face. After leaning in and giving Sam a long, deep kiss, Cas sat up taking the blankets with him, much to Sams annoyance.
"I am warm now Sam ,thank you." Cas smiled warmly at him. He got up to leave, but a hand around his wrist stopped him and it didn't take much convincing for him to crawl back in under warm blankets, squished against a hot body. He nuzzled into Sam's shoulder and draped an arm around his neck, falling asleep to the rise and fall of Sam's chest and the feeling of his arm at Cas's back.
