Disclaimer: I don't own the song Richard Corey. I don't own the poem Richard Corey. I don't own Daisuke.

I never thought that you would've done something like this.

You always seemed so happy;

So perfect.

A little ray of light in a dark, unforgiving world.

But now the darkness has come to call.

Your light lays extinguished in the shadows,

Laid low by your own hand.

I thought I knew you.

Was it all just a mask you wore?

Something to keep out the truth of your feelings?

The rain pores down relentlessly.

The sun refuses to shine.

Clouds have taken over the sky.

Ever since you left us,

The sky has been in mourning.

And when the sun or moon do decide to come out of their hiding spots,

They stay pale.

Unwilling to shine as they did when you were alive.

How could you have fooled us?

We were your friends.

We would have helped you-

Whether you asked us or not.

Through all we've gone through, you never gave up hope.

You were our lighthouse,

Shining across the sea of troubled times.

You were our well,

A never ending source of positive energy.

You were our glue,

That which held us together in the face of adversity.

You were our guide,

Showing us the way when we became lost.

You were our whip,

Pushing us on when we grew tired of the fight.

Each and every one of us would have gone to hell and back for you.

I thought you knew that.

But you had us all fooled, didn't you?

Sit and smile although you were broken on the inside.

Play the happy fool although you all you wanted to do

Was rage at the world that held so much hurt.

A mask in a smile.

But pain is like pressure

Or a storm.

It has a way of building up,

Pushing at its confines.

Until there comes a point when

Something has to break

That something was you.

Why?

Why did you do it Daisuke?

Why did you lie to us?

I used to think that you were happy,

That you never had any problems.

That your life was perfect despite your flaws.

I never realized how good an actor you were.

I never knew that your world was anything but rose red.
