"Rosie, the Doctor's being mean to me! Make him stop!" Jack whined.

Yes, Captain Jack Harkness was complaining to Rose Tyler like a five year old.

"Why me?" No, she was not whining back. Not. At. All.

"Because he loves you and he'll do anything you want." Rose blushed at the thought of the Doctor loving her. He couldn't. He was the almighty Time Lord and she was the "stupid ape."

"That is not true, Jack!"

"Is too!"

"Is not!"

"Is too!"

"Is not!"

"Is too." The Doctor's voice suddenly whispered in her ear.

She spun around, completely shocked.

How could he possibly agree to that?

"What?"

Way to go, Rose.

"I'd do anything for you, Rose. Just to see you happy. That's why I let the idiot come with us. Because you wanted him to."

"Oi! And I thought you loved me, Doctor!"

This was a normal occurrence for her. Jack flirting with her. The Doctor telling him to stop. Then Jack flirting even harder with him. And for whatever reason, she stayed.

It's because you love him.

"What gave you that idea?"
"Everything you said last night in bed."
"I only said it to you because Rose was sleeping."
"And when you think you know a person!"

Rose burst into hysterical giggles at their banter.

Absolutely mental, these two.

"Not that your banter isn't adorable and hilarious but the Doctor has some explaining to do."
"Oh, you're in trouble, Doc."
"But, Rose. I don't have to explain it. I love you!"
"Yeah, mhm, sure. That's why you were with Jack last night instead of coming to me!"
"I'm irresistible, Rosie, you know that." He winked at her and ran up to the Doctor and kissed him.
"Not-huh, Jackie. He's mine. No kisses for you."
"Yeah! What Rose said!"
"Don't pretend that you don't like it, Doctor. You love me."
"Only because you smell like Rose."
"So, you're using me?!"
"Of course I am!"
"Gah!"
"Now, if you'll excuse us, me and Rose have some business to…uh, work out."
"Kinky."
"Shut up, Jackie."
"Never, Rosie."

These two drove her insane, yes, but she stuck around because those two were her best friends. The Doctor was a bit more, but he always had been. So when he kissed her, time and space melted away. Her Doctor was with her and that was all that mattered.
