Canons and guns Blazed across the sea, bombs hitting other ships with catastrophic results, bullets burning holes through the flesh of my own soldiers and that of the axis. More specifically: Japan.
He claimed that he was only here on the order of Germany, but I didn't entirely believe him. I desperately wanted to believe that, but it simply couldn't be. Not with him attacking us like he was.
I stood on the metal of one of my battleships, a bloodstained version of my naval flag draped over my shoulders. I could feel tears well up in my eyes, but I pushed them back. I couldn't let the rest of my men see me cry.
I lurched forward when the ship jerked.
"Captain, we're being boarded!" My lieutenant cried, his boots tapping the metal as he ran to tell me the news.
"Damn it!" I screamed, already heading for the stairs. "What level?"
"Second level, sir!" The lithe looking man said.
"Send in back up. I'm going in!" I declared, already moving down the stairs.
"But sir, we're being boarded by their mother ship! Honda is sure to be on it!" He screamed. I simply ignored him and ran down the stairs, turning and running down the next flight to the second level.
I could hear the boots tapping the metal of the floor. I held my gun in my hand now and I pressed myself into the wall, staying as far out of their sight as I could. I let myself peak around the corner just enough to see the man that was leading the legion of men into my ship.
His black hair was mucked with blood which I was torn over, his brown eyes looked almost truly soulless. His uniform was black, hiding any blood wounds that he had.
"K-Kiku..." I whispered subconsciously, but apparently it had been loud enough for him to hear for his eyes snapped in my direction. My own eyes widened and I pulled back into hiding which seemed to have been too late.
Japan had already moved away from his men and stood in front of me. He gripped my shoulders with a placid, sickeningly calm expression on his face. I began to hyperventilate. I was absolutely terrified.
Where did my Kiku go? Who was this new person that replaced him?
"L-Ling?" He whispered, pushing me to the ground and kneeling in front of me. His gloved hands hit the wall beside my head. "Y-you're all dirty..."
His voice was sweet, every emotion that he was trying to seal away pouring out. I could tell that he was near tears, despite his calm expression. I wanted to kiss him. To forgive him. To forget all of the war. I wanted to help him get rid of Germany.
My hands subconsciously ran over his shoulders, his arms and his chest- feeling what I knew that I would probably never be able to again. I prayed to God that we would be able to settle this war peacefully.
I felt a pair of cold lips press against mine. The kiss that Kiku gave me then was full of so much emotion. I could practically fell the love that poured through the kiss. The love, the pain, the angry, the worry and the sorrow. With that came the inevitable truth of it's meaning.
Kiku pulled away and stood up, pulling a gun from his coat and pressing it against my eye. With my other eye, I could see the curves of his eyebrows, the emotion in his eyes.. the tear that slipped down his cheek.
Then, everything went red.
