Well, hello!
I was listening to a little Anthony Warlow, and I came across 'Lily's Eyes' (from the musical 'The Secret Garden', (music by Marsha Norman, who also wrote the music for the stage version of 'Dr Zhivago')based on the book. Personally I think Rowling was referencing it in naming Harry's mother Lily.). I would not usually write anything Snape/Lily, as I don't really ship them, but even so, the similarities were so striking that I had to do this.
If you do not know the song, I would advise that you listen to it while reading. .com/watch?v=ifCci7Ute2A&feature=related is quite a good version. In fact, even if you don't read the fic, at least listen to the song.
Oh, and by the way, similarly to the book and musical (in which there are multitudes of spirits running around), James here is a ghost.
