Remus feels pains rippling through his body as he tells Sirius and everyone to run. Sirius looks as if he's going to question why, but something shines in his eyes and Remus knows he understands. He just hopes Sirius will make sure the kids gets to safety. Otherwise, he'll never forgive himself.

He thinks back to how he has come to this point.

Remus had gone to the Shrieking Shack when he saw Peter and Sirius's name on the Marauder's Map. He knew he had to investigate it. He had to know what was going on. One and for all, he had to know the truth.

Before that, Severus had said, "Goodnight," because had to go on rounds. Before that, they had been kissing leisurely, and Severus's long, potion stained fingers brought him to release so he couldn't even see clearly.

Severus was always able to do that to Remus, even in school when they were forced to keep their relationship a secret because of the Marauders and Slytherins. Even now, while it wasn't necessary for the relationship to be kept secret – after all, they were two consenting adults – it seems to add a thrill to the whole thing.

Severus had originally only come to his room to discuss something school related, but Remus hadn't been able to resist him. Instead of allowing Severus to continue talking, Remus had grabbed the black robe that covered Severus's lanky frame and pulled him towards the bed.

Taking unusual control, he had pushed Severus onto the bed and proceeded to ravage him, but that had been after Severus had told Remus he needed to take the Wolfsbane.

Now, Remus realized in his need for Severus, and then the distraction of seeing Peter and Sirius's names on the Marauder's Map, he had forgotten about the potion.

Now, it was too late to fix his mistake, and Remus had to deal with the consequences.
