I don't pity you, Draco
Fandom: Harry Potter
Ship: Drarry / DracoxHarry
Time: Post Battle of Hogwarts
Summary:
After the war, there are two kinds of people for Draco.
The ones that are angry at him and those that pity him.
Harry Potter doesn't belong to either group.
Disclaimer:
Harry Potter belongs to our Queen J.K and not to me.
Draco sighed as he left the room in which his trial had been held.
Pity. That was all he had seen in the eyes of the wizards that took part in the trial.
They all pitied him and Draco hated it. He didn't need pity, not from anyone.
As Draco walked towards the entrance, he saw Harry Potter.
He should probably address the man as his personal savior now.
Harry had been one of the main reasons that Draco didn't have to go to prison.
The Gryffindor had told everyone of how he had helped them in the Malfoy Manor, earning mostly confused and disbelieving looks, though Harry Potter would of course never lie.
A frown on his lips, Draco slowly made his way over to his former nemesis.
He lightly tapped his shoulder and when Harry had turned around he didn't give him the time to say something, instead blurting out "Thank you, Potter."
He felt disgusted with himself, having to thank the man he spent hating over all those years.
Well, it wasn't just hate, though if anyone ever found out about that, they would have to die.
In fact, Draco's attempt in first year, to befriend the savior of the wizarding world, had been completely sincere and when Harry had refused, the bond's pride was damaged severely.
Harry looked shocked at Draco's words though his features softened and a smile made its way onto his full lips.
"There's no need to thank me, Malfoy." He said simply, then added "Anyone would have done it."
Draco shook his head almost immediately.
"Not for me, Potter." He retorted and looked at him. "They either hate me or pity me."
Harry stared at the Malfoy heir, a hint of confusion in his eyes though it vanished as he expostulated: "I don't hate you."
To which Draco replied "Then you pity me, easy as that. I don't have time for this."
He said and turned around, making his way over to the door.
"I don't pity you, Draco." Harry called after him and the use of his first name startled the pureblood enough to stop in his tracks.
When Harry didn't seem to want to lengthen his comment, he continued to go his way though from that day, his thoughts would always wander back to this moment.
