It was a normal day in Beach City, with the sun low in a sky splattered with clouds, and what would be a better way to spend a morning like this than with your friends? Well, that's just what Steven Universe, Beach City's half-gem half-human resident, chose to do. He had invited his best friend Connie over to spend some time together, doing friend things. He hadn't seen her for a couple of days, so when he finally heard the gentle knock he'd been anticipating, he practically leapt towards the screen door, swinging it open exitedly.
"Hi Connie! Glad to see you again!" He said, his joyful tone of voice clear. "Hey Steven! Look, I brought some movies to watch!" She opened the cyan bag that was on her back, and it had several movies inside, along with some water bottles and granola bars. "My mom wouldn't let me leave without packing a healthy snack." She looked into the kitchen, where a purple gem lay sleeping on the counter, stomach down, and facing the couch. On the couch was a tall, slender gem, piecing together a 1,000 piece puzzle spread on the coffee table. Next to her sat square mom, staring into nothingness.
Steven grabbed Connie's hand and almost dragged her up the steps, then sat on the bed, as she followed suit. Steven pulled a movie out of Connie's bag, which was set on the bed. When he saw what it was, he nearly shrieked in joy. "I figured I'd grab it while they were still in stock." Connie stated. It was Crying Breakfast Friends- Season 2-3. All on one disc. Steven looked at Connie, and hugged her tightly, thanking her over and over. He ran over to the TV, and put the disc in the DVD player. The TV sparked, and then displayed the familiar cartoon foods with faces, in their usual, tear-filled antics. Steven leapt back onto the bed, and for an entire hour they watched the waterworks. Connie didn't like the show like Steven did, but she'd watch it so that could spend time together.
After they had finished with season two, they decided to take a break from television. Garnet was in the kitchen, and had gotten Amethyst to sit on the seat next to the counter, where she had bread and several other things. Pearl was almost some with her puzzle when Steven decided to ask Garnet a question. "Hey Garnet, is anything bad gonna happen today?" She remained silent, and walked closer to the warp pad. Pearl looked at her questioningly. Amethyst shoved a ham sandwich in her mouth. After that, everyone sat in silence, looking between each other, for roughly a minute, until Connie broke the silence.
"Come on Steven, let's go get a sna-" Something very strange interrupted her. A child fell onto the bed space behind the two. They looked to be a little younger than Steven, and wore a blue and pink striped sweater. Their hair was brown, and their eyes... weren't visible. At the same time, several strange creatures appeared next to each of the three (four) gems in the room. Everyone was confused.
