Author's Notes: The title was inspired by Anthony Horowitz's Necropolis... you know, Anthony Horowitz who wrote Alex Rider? Well, Alex Rider's the coolest! I mean, a fourteen year old spy! And the first Necropolis was scary... still reading it... Okay, I'll shut up now.

Full summary:
Why is it, that you think this is the city of the dead, when everyone is alive and well?
Old memories resurface, and later, as does fragments of the past. As they slowly come together, a perfect reflection of the past is created that is less than stunning... And now, the past is the present, and Ai must face all the turmoil she left behind.

Disclaimer: I, Luckystar4869 (you really think I'm gonna write my real name???) do not own Detective Conan in any way, and I do not want to. I mean, what if you kill off an important chracter, and everyone hates you??? Oh, and Ai will not be mentioned in this story's disclaimer. UH-OH! I just mentioned her! Damn it!

Necropolis - Prologue

"It isn't a coincidence."

The quiet voice cut through the tense air.

"Then what is it?"

"It's Vermouth. She's come for me."

-----

Gin's black Porche permanently parked in Beika. The rumour that 'Chris Vineyard is in Beika!'. The feeling of permanent presence of the black organisation. The FBI's, or Jodie's, increasing worriedness. The mysterious, anonymous letter. And, finally, that feeling of being hunted down and being spied on was stronger than ever.

It was time to go.

Ai smiled, in spite of herself. That baka, Kudo-kun, told her not to run away from her destiny. She smirked. She had wanted to believe him. But she couldn't. The more she thought it over, the more confused she got. As if anyone knew what their destiny was. Her destiny could lead her up to the moon, if she really wanted to know.

She carefully put the pile of notes she had written in place, on the table. One to Agasa. One to the Detective Boys. One to Kudo. And one to the metropolitan police... unsigned, of course. No one needed to know that it was a seven year old who had written the plans for the capture of the Black Organisation. No one needed to know that she knew exactly what she was writing, because she knew the organisation's ways. Because it had nearly happened to her, before.

But it might not succeed. Then, that Kudo-kun will need to perfect her plans, she thought, as she finished his note with a flourish.

Because no one knows their fate. No one know what's going to happen, until it does.

Important extra notes: 'Necropolis' means the 'city of the dead'.

I had always thought that Ai knew a lot more about the Black Organisation than what she's letting on.

And someone, please vote in my poll.
