Kellin Quinn Bostwick was feeling sad. So sad that he had run out of
class, past his worried friends, and away from his boyfriend to hide
in the shitty boys bathroom to sob his eyes out. Kellin was very sad
indeed.
He was so caught up in his crying that he didn't notice his previously
mentioned boyfriend, Vic, enter said shitty bathroom to find him.
"Kells?" Vic called. Kellin didn't answer, so Vic, being the
intelligent boy that he was, followed the sounds of muffled sobs to
where his boyfriend was curled up on the dirty bathroom floor.
"Kellin?" he tapped the boy's shoulder lightly.
"V-vic?" Kellin sniffled, looking up at the mexican with big, watery blue eyes.
"Yeah baby. It's me. I'm here." Vic said, crouching down to gather the
small boy into his arms. He brushed away a few strands of raven hair
away from Kellin's pale face. Vic knew what had happened. This
happened often enough for Vic to know without even asking. Kellin's
dad had left again, and his mother had taken out her frustration on
the sobbing boy curled up in Vic's arms.
"H-he..."
"I know, babe. But it's not your fault." Vic soothed
"But-"
"Kellin. Would I ever lie to you?"
"No."
"It's not your fault."
"O-okay..." Kellin stuttered, putting all the trust he had left in him
with the other boy.
"Hey Kells? Do you remember that song we used to listen to in the 7th
grade?" Vic asked after a moment.
"Which one?"
"The one I sang to you the first time he left. The day I asked you out."
"Oh, yeah. What were the words again?"
"Chin up, buttercup. You know you've got a heart of gold. The face of
an angel, you're beautiful. I'm lucky to lay my eyes on you. Baby,
baby... It's true~" he sang softly.
"I remember now..." Kellin sighed happily, lost in the memory of his
first date with Vic.
"Well it applies to you pretty damn well." Vic said, placing a kiss to
Kellin's head. "So chin up, Buttercup and lets go face the world.
Together." And with that, both boys exited the bathroom, hand in hand.
