Author's Note: Hey, guys, I'm back. Based off of your votes, this month is Gwent (Gwen and Trent). As always, leave a review; constructive criticism is welcomed. There are some references to 6teen in this story. Enjoy!
I don't own Total Drama or 6teen
Trent strolled through the mall in pursuit of a birthday gift for his mother. He moved from store to store, from fail to fail. He had looked in a few clothing stores such as The Khaki Barn and Albatross and Finch, but those were full of clones and snobs. He had tried looking in a sports store called The Penalty Box, but the man in charge was a psycho who yelled at his employees. A music store called Spin This caught his attention, but that was a flop as well. He tried many other stores, but all of them were duds.
Feeling tired and hopeless, Trent decided to stop at the food court for something to eat. He bought a slice of pizza and sat down to eat it when something across the room caught his eye. It was blue hair, and he knew who that hair belonged to. He carried the pizza over to where she was sitting and sat down.
"Did I invite you to sit… wait, Trent?" Gwen took a moment to recognize him.
"Hey, Gwen, how's it going?"
"I'm ok, you?"
"Not too shabby. How was All Stars?"
"Ugh, please don't mention that to me. I spent the entire time trying to fix things with Courtney and Duncan, but it didn't work. Yeah, she forgave me, but then she made that list. Duncan kept trying to win her back or something and… ugh! It wasn't exactly the highlight of my Total Drama experience." Gwen sighed.
"Bummer, well, can I buy you a slice of pizza or something?" Trent asked.
"Sure, I'd like that." Gwen smiled at him. Trent stood and purchased a second slice and then they ate their pizza together.
"So, what have you been doing?" Gwen asked as she tossed her napkin into a trash can.
"A little of this, a little of that, right now I'm trying to find a birthday gift for my mom, but it hasn't really been going too well."
"Yeah, maybe I could help." Gwen offered.
"Ok, thanks." Trent accepted her offer.
"So, what is she like?"
"Well, she's really nice and she enjoys reading and cooking. She generally enjoys sweets, but has a peanut allergy, so anything with peanuts in it we can't get." Trent said. Gwen thought for a minute.
"How about a cookbook?" she finally suggested.
"I never would have thought of that! Thank you so much! Wow, I'm an idiot." Trent said.
"Don't be silly, you're not an idiot. Come on, let's go find a cookbook." Gwen took his hand and led him to the bookstore. They browsed through the shelves and bought a book that specialized in peanut-free recipes.
"Thanks again, Gwen. I guess I owe you one now." Trent said as they exited the store.
"Just give me your phone number and we'll be even." replied Gwen. Trent stopped and looked at her.
"Are you saying…?"
"Yep. Give me your number and maybe we can go to a movie sometime soon."
"Ok, sure, that sounds great." Trent typed his phone number into her contacts list and she did the same with his phone.
"All right, then I'll be expecting a call sometime tonight?" Trent asked.
"You got it. Bye." Gwen gave a little wave and walked away. Trent slipped his phone into his pocket and smiled the entire way to his car.
