Summary : Even if it has been burnt, Kathryn wrote a letter to David before she left. Here is what it said.

Letter to David

My dearest David

When you read these words, I will be away from Storybrooke. I'll have spread my wings to Boston, to a new life.

David, I have loved you.

I have genuinely loved you.

But that love was nothing but an illusion. It didn't make you happy and it ended up giving my existence a taste of bitterness and frustration. The love you have for Mary Margaret, the one she has for you in return, that is true love. I've seen it in your eyes on that picture that made be become so cruel, you look so radiant! So happy! Your eyes were filled with tenderness, devotion, blissfulness was glowing from the both of you. I want you to be happy David, you deserve it! You are a good and kind man Life should spoil.

David, I thank you for everything. There was a time when you made me happy. For that, I thank you. I also thank you for trying to save our union. It seemed hard for you, you certainly were attracted by Mary Margaret already, yet you still agreed to try all of my ideas to strengthen our link. You did it to please me, to avoid hurting me, I know that all too well, but this attention and this kindness warm my heart at this hour, when I'm about to leave this place. You and I have a link, but we were mistaken on its nature. If we can't be the other's half, let's, at least, remain friends.

Live your life with Mary Margaret. You two deserve yo be happy. Don't feel responsible for my departure. I leave on my own free will. I might come back one day, as a tourist or a new citizen, but for now, I must end this chapter of my life, turn a new page and write the rest of the story, and maybe one day, my life will end on a fairytale note, with a happy ending.

I'd like to say a word to Mary Margaret:

Mary Margaret,

I am well aware that my words won't erase the humiliation I have put you through.

Nonetheless, I can't decently leave without apologizing from the bottom of my heart.

In the heat of emotion and wrath, I became horrible and I wasn't thinking straight. I know you are a kind hearted person and if you have hurt me, it was not wanted. I realize it now, with a head cooled off.

I thank you again for taking care of David when he was still in his coma. I wish you both the best. Please don't feel guilty, either you or David. You can never predict where the arrows of Love fall

I also know that what I did to you had negative consequences on you, so I'd like to do something, hoping it will ease the rumours:

David and you are free to publish this letter and spread it across the city.

I want all of Storybrooke to know that David isn't a swine and you aren't a whore. You two are litteraly the opposite of these words.

I leave with an eased conscience, a lighter heart and above all, the joy of knowing that my friend David found love in someone adorable. I dare even say that I leave happy. Happy that two people found each other. I don't regret anything.

David, Mary Margaret, I allow myself to kiss your cheeks.

Your friend,

Kathryn

The End
