Ellen's POV
"Quick! At this rate, the school year will be over by the time you finish that sandwich!" I exclaimed to my best friend, Britney, who was downing a ham and cheese. We were sitting in a cute little café in Liverpool, England, where we'd be attending school at the Frobisher-Smythe Academy of Liverpool . "Don trush meh" she said, muffled by the bread and meat stuffed in her mouth. Realizing that it was no use trying to rush her, I sat back in my chair and closed my eyes. I must have fallen asleep, because the next thing I knew, Britney was throwing French fries at my face. "Ok, ok, I'm awake! I'm awake! Quit!" I demanded, guarding my face from her fry bombs with my hands. "C'mon," she said, picking up our trash, "the driver will be here soon."
Britney's POV
When we got out of the car, I nearly passed out. It was beautiful! I was finally standing in front of Anubis house, the place where my parents and Ellen's parents met. "It's amazing," I said under my breath.
As Trudy, the "house mother", was running us through the basics of what to do in case of a fire, the chore schedule, etc., I could tell Ellen wasn't entirely paying attention. Instead, she was constantly glancing over her shoulder at a handsome blonde boy sitting in the living room reading a green hard cover book. "Got that, girls?" Trudy asked in her adorable British accent. "Huh?" Ellen suddenly sat up straight and combed through her long golden hair. "Uh, yeah. Got it." I quickly told Trudy, who was eying Ellen suspiciously. "I think we'll be fine."
Ellen's POV
As soon as Trudy was upstairs, the cute blondie came over to us, never taking his eyes off of me. "Hey," he said to me. His intense blue eyes were locked with mine. I felt like I was about to melt. I started nervously twirling a strand of my long hair. I had barely managed to squeak 'hi' when he continued, "I'm Jake. You're Ellen, right? And you're Britney?" He asked, and turned to her, breaking our gaze. "Yeah," she said, seeming to not have the same interest for Jake that I had. "We're new here. From America," she finished. "Yeah, I know. Just let me know if you need anything, ok?" he asked, looking back at me. As he walked up the stairs, I realized I would be needing a lot of things this year.
