"Mother! Please don't leave me. Please. You'll get better. I'm sure of it." Cried a 5-year-old Inuyasha as he held his mother's slowly cooling soft, bloody hand.

"I'm sorry Inuyasha. I can no longer be with you in the world of the living. But I promise I will always be with you in spirit." Said Izayoi, Inuyasha's mother.

"But-But why can't I come with you?" asked a teary eyed Inuyasha.

"Because koi, tis not your time to join the world of the spirits. But remember, just because you cannot see me, does not mean that I cannot see you."

"But mother. I don't want you to leave. What am I gonna do? What's gonna happen mother?" Inuyasha asked desperately trying to will his mother to live.

"Your big brother, Sesshoumaru will take care of you koi. When you get of age, you will be able to live in this mansion by yourself and do whatever you want to do with it."

"But mother, aniki hates me. He has since the day I was born."

"No koi, aniki just doesn't understand things. You know your brother; he doesn't like things that he doesn't understand.-cough-

"Mother?" asked a frightened Inuyasha as he gripped her slippery hand tighter.

"-cough- Koi, I need you to be a good boy for aniki okay. And I need you to live a full life for mommy okay sweetie?"

He nodded.

"Good boy. And tell little Kagome that I said hello and goodbye"

He nodded again. Tears now streaming down his face.

"I love you my little Inuyasha. My baby boy. Never forget that."

"I love you too mommy." Inuyasha said as he wiped tears that were cascading down his face; only to be followed by more tears.

Izayoi smiled beautifully before her eyes lost their glow and turned dull and lifeless.

Inuyasha froze as his mother's once warm and welcoming hands were now cold, bloody, and lifeless.

"Mother? Mother?" Inuyasha repeatedly shook her trying to gain a response. He soon gave up and collapsed on the floor. Bloody and devastated. New tears streaming down his face. Begging her to come back.

Later that night after crying himself to sleep, he awoke to the front door of 'His' 3-story mansion slamming shut. The little hanyou's face paled with fear as he saw the one man he never wanted to see again appear in the opening of his mother's room.

"Hey son. Happy Birthday." Said a man in a deep, malice tone.
