Her hand was warm in mine as she grabbed it and ran, the building falling apart around us. It was pure and unrestrained chaos, as the gravity restraints that kept this palace in the sky afloat, started to fail.

"This way! I know a pad were a starship should be waiting!" She barked as we ran through the crumbling and starting to deteriorate castle. We ran down a corridor as the room behind us buckled and strained, the floor heaving as gravity was pushed and pulled through it.

Up ahead there was light coming out of an opening. I could see the pad and starship that Koewo had said would be there.

We ran faster and shot out of the collapsing castle and on to the landing pad.

"You know how to pilot one of those?" Koewo cried, pointing to the starship we were approaching, it was an old Hutt war-Yacht, a tiny but deadly starship that basically every starship pilot knew how to handle.

I nodded furiously as she looked at me.

"Good, cause this is our ticket off this floating death fortress" Koewo barked as we finally came to the yacht.

We didn't waste a second and quickly entered the star ship, Koewo closing the back entrance as we rushed inside and I jumped into the cockpit and captain's chair.

"Hold on!" I yelled as I fired up the old console and began the launch procedure, being built for war the ship started up in an instant, and began to heat up its engines. Koewo jumped into the co-pilot seat beside me with a hard thud as the console showed it was ready to fly; I grabbed the steering wheel and lifted off.

We shot forward and then up, almost hitting the walls of the collapsing castle, as we rose into space. I started to laugh as the clouds started to thin and stars showed through, the nervous energy and thrill escaping me in rasping laughter as we rose.

Koewo joined me as we flew through the atmosphere into space, her laugh harsh and rolling. I slowed our ascent as space surrounded us and started to level out. Finally I could see the hue of the planet we had just escaped from no more and knew I was safe, I looked to the Wookie besides me and saw her sobbing, her laughter having turned to cries of anguish.

I stopped the ship and let us just float for a few minutes as Koewo's sobs slowed and I collected myself. I had just escaped from the clutches of an insane Hutt lord, and it was all thanks to the hideous bag of fur sitting next to me. Then it dawned on me, I owed her a life debt. I owed that howling creature, whom not five hours ago I was planning to kill, my life and loyalty.

I looked again at her and saw her begin to collect herself, the fine white dress she wore ripped to shreds and the flowers in her fur falling out, she looked over to me and stared.

Then quick as lightning, she shot forward and kissed me, holding my face and forcing me to kiss her back. This was not my best day.
