Hello guys! So, I started watching DW just a few weeks ago and I'm such a huge fan. That show really got to me and suddenly I had made decision.

A few years ago social services and the government decided to get me out of my home and bring me to a foster family. But that was only temporary. After a few weeks they'd sent me to a children's home. This time was really hard and emotional for me and sometimes I'm still suffering from it, cause I don't really have anybody to talk about it.

Sometimes it is really hard to explain and this is why I decided to write it down like this. I hope it'll help me. So I'm not doing this for reviews (though it'd be really nice if I'd get some) most of all this is just because I need to get this finally away from me and start living a normal live. I'm changing a few things here and there to make it compatible. I'm trying to give you the true facts at the end of each chapter. For now, just read on, and at the end of the page I'll see y'all again.

It's been several hours since Rose arrived here. Right now she's sitting in her blank room, trying to wring her mind about what happened.

Around 9 o'clock Mary, the social worker came to pick her up. Rose had lived the last 6 weeks with a foster family. It was exhausting explaining everything over and over again, but finally after a few weeks, they agreed to move her to a children's home. Only two days after Christmas, Mary stood in front of her foster family's door and told her she had 30 minutes to pack her bags.

It wasn't that she liked her foster parents, but Rose knew she would only stay temporarily so it wasn't that hurtful to say goodbye.

The drive took about an hour and then she stood in front of that big blue house. It looked ordinary but also a bit plain, modern but nothing to special and definitely huge.

'Everything okay, dear?' , asked Mary.

Rose only nodded. That was what she was doing nowadays. Nodding and not speaking. She got so tired of it over the last few weeks, so she just stopped. The psychologist says that she's traumatized, hence the complete silence on her side.

But Rose was not. Well, not really. It was just so annoyed that everyone asked her the same questions, getting the same answers over and over again. She had an appointment with the Judge once a week and she asked her always the same questions.

'C'mon then. Pick up your bags and follow me inside. They're already waiting for us.'

Rose heaved her bags up, though it wasn't much, and followed Mary.

They went through a glass door into the foyer then stopped at a second glass door. 'TEENS' was written in big, colourful letters across it. Mary rung the Bell and someone yanked the door open within a few seconds.

A girl with long, red hair stood in front of them, starring a few seconds. Then she turned around and yelled: 'Martha, the newbie's here!"

'I'm coming, I'm coming', a voice yelled back. As Rose looked through the door she could see another foyer. Jackets were hanging everywhere and two doors led out of the room. One was closed, maybe a storage room, Rose thought. The other one led into the rest of the house.

A woman in her early 50s rounded the corner and stood in front of them. She had already gray hair and wore a business suit. Her smile wasn't really friendly. Great, Rose thought.

'Good morning, Mary. How are you?', the woman who must be Harriett, asked. The social worker answered friendly. 'Oh, fine as always, Harriett. I brought Rose with me'. It was then that Harriett looked at the girl. 'So this is the infamous Rose Tyler. We've already heard so much of you. My name's Harriett Jones and I'm the head girls social worker here. You can call me just Harriett. Everybody does that. In fact, everybody calls us by our pre-names. Come in'.

They told her to get out of her shoes and then had to follow through the open door into a big dining room. There were already 7 other people seated, including the redhead who opened the door. Harriet took the head of the table. Left from her sat the redhead. Beside her was a dark skinned girl. She was talking, well, rather discussing something with a dark skinned boy opposite to her. Between him and Harriett was a petite brown haired girl seated who didn't seem very happy to be here. Well, who would be?

Behind the dark skinned girl sat another brown haired boy who was talking to a girl with long black hair.

And at the end of the table there was a boy sitting. He wasn't really engaged in any conversation. He had short brown hair and seemed rather bored.

The chatting stopped immediately when Harriett seated herself.

'Guys, this is Rose Tyler. She's your new housemate. Rose, why don't you take the seat over there?' Harriett pointed at the chair beside the boy at the end of the table. The blonde nodded and walked on. The boy seemed a bit startled when she took a seat, as if he didn't realize that she had even entered the room, and showed her a small smile.

'Rose?' That was Mary. The girl looked up. 'I'm leaving now. Good luck. See ya' and then she was out the door. Rose couldn't believe it. She just left her here with a bunch of strangers.

It was silent for a few seconds and then Harriett started talking again. She introduced everyone. The redhead beside her was Donna, then came Martha, Sarah-Jane and Jack. On the other side sat Amy, Mickey and John, the boy beside her.

After a short speech and introduction of the house rules, Harriett sent Donna with Rose to show her her room. They went again into the foyer where Rose fetched her bags and then went up a staircase that Rose hadn't even noticed before. They went along a hallway, passed another glass door, took a right turn and stopped in front of a huge window. On each wall of the hallway in front of the window was an orange door.

'The room on the left is John's. If you need something, don't bother him, he hates it.' Donna turned around and pointed at the other end of the hallway. 'Over there, on the right, that' my room. Come and ask me anytime you need something. Across from me lives Amy and beside me does Jack live. Keep a bit away from him, he's such a player', the redhead rolled her eyes. 'Just around the corner is Mickey' room. He tends to turn up his music too much. Just bang against the wall a few times. That should do it. Oh I'm talking too much again. Welcome to your new home'. She was a bit sarcastic.

Donna opened the door and Rose entered the room. Well, it was nothing special. The walls were all white. On the left side of Rose there was a small chest of drawers and behind it stood the bed against the heater. Then there was again a big window that started at the floor and stopped at the ceiling. Bars were placed outside, but they just as high as to Rose's hips, so she could still see landscape outside.

On the wall opposing her was a dresser, besides that a bookshelf and a desk with a few drawers.

'So what'cha say, Blondie?' asked Donna. Rose turned around and gave her a small smile. Then she picked up her bags and put them on her bed. 'Oi! Don't I even get thanks from you? You're pretty rude, ya know?' The blonde turned around with a look of guilt on her face. But she was saved as a voice behind Donna spoke. 'You're one to talk, missy. You're always being rude!' The redhead turned around to find John leaning against his door. 'OI!" Rose couldn't hide a small smile. 'Well, I was nice to her, and then she started being rude'.

John rolled his eyes and came closer. 'Sometimes I really ask myself how you got so far in your life without being able to see'. Donna wanted to protest but John interrupted her. 'She hasn't spoken a word since she arrived here. Maybe she just doesn't talk'. The girl looked taken aback for a second but composed herself really fast. 'But who doesn't talk? That's just boring!' John sighed. 'Not everyone needs to tell his private live to the world.' Donna huffed and stalked away to her room.

The boy must have seen the slightly worried look on Rose's face 'cause he took a step closer and said. 'Don't worry, she'll come around. She always does.' The girl nodded. They stared at each other for a few seconds, then Rose looked down and John took a step back. 'Well, I leave you to unpack now. I'll get you for lunch?' The blond nodded. 'Okay. So… if ya need anything, then just knock, okay?' Rose nodded again and with a small smile she closed the door. Then her smile fell when she turned around.

This is my new home, huh? She asked herself, and then went on to unpack her stuff.

This was about half an hour ago. After exploring her en-suite bathroom that was just across the window and unpacking everything she had nothing to do. She looked around the room. On her desk stood her laptop, nothing else, cause she had yet to get her school books. When she let herself fall on her bed she noticed she had to get some bed linen. With a huff she went to the door to search for some.

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed it so far. Maybe even leave a review?

I think I got a few things to explain.

I'm from Germany so this whole juristic system works a bit different.

5 years ago, a social worker appeared at my school, wanting to talk to me. She told me that my neighbours gave social services a tip, that at home something wasn't right. We talked for a long time and in the end their decision was that they'd take me with them and place me in a foster family for now.

It was really difficult for me, cause they already had a son and now also me. I didn't want to intrude and so mostly stayed at my room and read. I read really much.

Just after Christmas social workers told me the judge decided to place me in a children's home, for I was only 13. That's when this story starts.

Every character in this story is slightly based on one of my real housemates and social workers in there besides the Doctor.

The next chapter will be one where I'll just explain.

Now… I don't know what to write so… I'll just leave it for now.

Oh! And I'm searching for a beta. So if you're interested, please write me :D
