"I don't know how you're going to forgive me for what I'm about to tell you," Shawn said, pensively looking into Belle's worried eyes.

"Shawn, what is it?"

"Jan's pregnant." He paused as he felt everything he ever wanted crumble. "And I'm the father."

He barely recognized the hot searing pain as Belle's smooth hand flashed across his cheek. "We're done," she shouted as tears coursed down her face. "I never want to see you again."

Isabella Black walked out of Shawn Brady's life forever.

Shawn POV

It wasn't worth it. I hurt the person I loved most, and she will never forgive me. I wasn't even thinking about how much saying I was the father of Jan's baby would cost me. How much it would hurt the people I care about. And for what? Nothing.

Jan ended up getting an abortion anyway. She wanted it. She never wanted to keep the baby. I was such a fool to believe I could save it. But even if she had gone through with the pregnancy, I could never forgive myself. In trying to give the baby a chance to survive, I ruined my own chance at survival. I have nothing.
