Students shuffled into class and found their seats. Professor Hart sat at her desk, grading papers from the 6th year history test. As soon as the little clock in the corner struck 11, she stood up to address her class.

"Good morning class." She smiled to the young witches and wizards from every house in 4th year. "Today I will be telling you all a little story about how our school came to be. There will be no need to take notes. Seeing as it is the day before break, I thought this would interest you all."

The students put their quills and ink pots away. They were excited not to have to do anything today. Almost all of them were thinking about what christmas presents they were going to get and what food they were going to eat.

"As you all know, Hogwarts was founded in the 10th century by the 4 greatest witches and Wizards of the age. Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin.

Godric Gryffindor was a very outgoing man. He never backed down from a challenge. He spoke what he wanted, when he wanted it. He was a self proclaimed knight. As a boy, his mother died and his father trained him in sorcery. He traveled for a bit on his own, before meeting Salazar Slytherin at age 23.

Salazar Slytherin was raised by a wealthy, powerful, pureblood family. His parents were very strict and very set in their ways. After becoming of age, he set out on a journey. Weather to get away from his parents or to just explore, we will never know. A few years later, when he turned 24, he met Gryffindor.

Slytherin and Gryffindor became like brothers. They traveled together for a year when they met the two witches.

Salazar had grown up knowing who the Ravenclaws were. Another wealthy, powerful, pureblood family. They weren't as strict as the Slytherins, and defiantly had no problems with muggleborns or halfbloods. Their 21 year old daughter, Rowena, was very smart and witty because of them.

Rowena had see the two wizards ride into the town of Eastbourne, or modern day Hogsmead. Form her parents castle window she watched them cast spells in the outskirts of the city, knowing that they would be hung if caught, she went out to confront them.

She stormed out to where they were practicing and demanded they stopped. They laughed at her. Who was this woman to tell them what to do? She was furious, she quickly grabbed her wand and used the binding spell, Petrificus Totalus, on both of them with wordless magic. She then yelled at the two to stop acting stupid or they would get the entire wizard population hanged. The two men agreed to not practice magic near the muggle village anymore. She released the curse and stormed to her best friends house.

Helga Hufflepuff was another witch living in Eastbourne at the time. She and Rowena trained together in secret as children. Helga did not come form an extremely wealthy family, but she was defiantly in the upper class. When she turned 22, she started educating the young kids in the village, no matter their class or gender. She would identify the kids that showed the possibility of having magic in them, then send them to be taught by Rowena.

Right after Rowena told her of the two idiots that would get them all killed, they heard screaming. They rushed to the center of the town, where everyone had gathered, to see a little boy and girl being tied to a stake. The townspeople had accused the two kids of being a witch and wizard. Helga and Rowena knew that they were magical so they decided that they had to save them.

They knew they had to make it look like they died it the fire, so they bewitched all of the fire to look real but have no effect. When the fire was a big enough to hide the two women from view, they apperated right next to the kids, untied them, and apperated into the woods.

They now had to figure out what to do with the kids. They were to young to live on their own, both age 11. As they transfigured a tent and beds for the children to go to sleep, the two idiots walked up to their camp.

The men said that they were impressed by the women's skill and wanted to know if they could help in anyway. Helga explained to them about their little magic tutoring program that they ran in the town. Rowena joked that if they wanted to help them start a school where magical children could learn to use and control their powers safely, they could.

Surprisingly the men agreed. Thus Hogwarts began an idea.

They decided to use the old abandon castle that was a few miles from the village. They cleaned and refurbished it so it was safe for kids. They then decided upon houses, named after themselves. They could not decided on how to divide the kids up so they used a hat that they found in the courtyard. It was enchanted and placed in the headmasters office. At the time, They were all heads of the school.

They enchanted a quill to write out the names of every magical child born, so they could be contacted on the year of their 11th birthday. Everything was set, except the schools name. That night, Rowena had a dream of a warty hog leading her to the school. She told the others her dream and the name Hogwarts was created.

The day before the students were set to arrive, they all had a bit to much drink. This is how our infamous song came about. The next day, Helga and Salazar were trying to wake up Godric and he blew fire in their faces. Thats how we got Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus, Never tickle a sleeping dragon, as our motto.

The first years were tough, but they got through. Salazar started pushing the others to only allow pureblood children in, but they said no.

One evening, a muggleborn Gryffindor child spilled a potion in the hall. Salazar started yelling and cursing the child, claiming that is he had been born into a pure family, he wouldn't be stupid. Gryffindor heard him and pushed the kid out of the way. He and Salazar started yelling, then dueling.

Some of the kids ran to get the headmistresses. They stopped the fight, leaving both men unconscious. And sent all the kids home.

After a few weeks Salazar decided to leave. As much as they disagreed, everyone was devastated. They reopened the school, keeping Slytherin House.

Rowena and Helga were the most devastated. If Godric had not been there, the school most defiantly would have closed. Rowena hooked up with some muggle and she had a daughter, Helena."

The clock in the corner signaled it was time for lunch.

"They got over the rough patch and now the school is very successful." Professor Hart finished.

"Have a good break!"

The student that were thinking of food and gifts before class were now tinkling about the four friends that founded their home away from home.

A/N It sucks, but I am in a founders phase.
